I grew-up in a blue collar neighborhood and home in Pittsburgh.

My dad worked in the steel mill ... union
My uncle worked for a trucking company ... union
My cousin worked for a rail road ... union
My neighbors worked for:
the Port Authority ... union
the Post Office ... union
the County ... union
the Airline (baggage handler) ... union
My brother in-law worked for Heinz ... union

Do you see a pattern building here ...

Also, many of my neighbors grew-up during the depression and they had to rely on the government to even survive and they never got off the teet.

Many have an entitlement mindset and will never get out of the trap.

I was fortunate, I was the first in my family to get a college education and move away from the area. Both my parents and my sister believe me going away to college was the worst thing ever ... because I became an independent thinker and off the gov't teet and believe that others must break the chains that continue to bind them.

How's that from a personal perspective. (and this is not to say that there are not a lot white collar Dems out there, but many of them will have blue collar roots)

As for the Progressives ... they are the ultra left wing of the Dem party and come and go throughout history ... and do a lot of damage along the way. If you don't believe it research it.

Because 90% of the people in the Northeast are totally fucken brainless. They think because they go to schools like BU, Harvard they know it all. There is only about 10% of us in this neck of the woods that actually get it and have our eyes open to what's really going on. I live in Mass and Mass state sucks huge ass. This is the worste state in NE. If it wasn't for a job I would not be here. THis is California's little brother.

There's a heavy concentration of blacks in the NE especially around major urban areas. They vote 90% Democratic. Think about how much damage these average 60's IQ retards (I mean that literally and using the clinical criteria for retardation) do to the country voting the way they do!

Thus whites aren't too stupid overall, generally voting a solid 55%+ in favor of Republicans when factoring out the black vote.

Furthermore the Democratic party would be largely defunct if not for the blacks. However they perfected the art of bamboozling the not too bright and easily fooled blacks by promising them free stuff (which they can't afford to give) for their votes while keeping them disenfranchised (so they can continue to promise them more stuff in a cycle of promises and disenfranchisement, to continue to harvest their votes - brilliant really, have to hand it to the Spendocrats). This is largely what the Democratic political machine is.

Sorry to disagree Trin, but I could never buy into the lesser of two evils theory. If there is a decent man running for office I vote for him, if not no one gets my vote.

I would have felt like crap if I had voted for the Manchurian Candidate McCain, he turned out to be just as evil as the clown in the WH.

The fact is that this country was set up for regular folks to take their turn serving the nation to spread around the responsibility, not have a career politician class. I did three years on my Township Committe, two as Mayor and am on the ballot for November 2012. That is what we need - more decent, regular folks doing the work instead of filthy rich sellouts who represent no one but their own bank accounts.

your vote doesn't count. no one's vote counts. didn't the 'hanging chad' incident clear this up for people? whomever TPTB want to be president will end up being president, regardless of what the people actually think. the media will be manipulated into leading you to believe that the candidate is in the majority way before the actual election, thus no one is surprised when that person is "elected."

The northeast is the foundation of the American university system, even dating way back into the 1600's. Kids are raised looking at giant marble halls and vast libraries of knowledge.

The people there typically end up more intelligent, have a higher power of deduction, and therefore slant more progressive in nature.

As one example, they don't vote democratic solely because they want gay people to have more rights. They vote democratic because the thought of stopping *anyone* through emotional bigotry from having equal rights in a civilized society - simply doesn't make any logical sense.

Not all are blinded.Some still have the blood of free men coursing though their veins.
Some They just pull a lever without thought because their Grandfather and father voted democrat. They are now to lazy,fat and happy to think for themselves and to selfish to see the party has changed.So selfish that they don't care about you, me or the rest of the country.Just as the far southwest they bask in their riches and elitist educations while the rest toil to feed their machine.

Because republican policies lead to more jobs, a stronger military, a stronger economy and less racism and class division. Democratic policies lead to unemployment, a weak military, an inflated national debt, racism and class division.

clinton a democrat ruined the economy with his housing bubble. It took 10 years and burst near the end of bush's term but the current depression can be traced back to clintons policies. Don't believe me do some reasearch.

obama a democrat has raised the national debt more than all other presidents combined. 5 trillion dollars spent and unemployments higher than when he started.

What we need to do is divide the country in 2. Put all the liberals and democratic idiots on one side adn all the conservatives and republicans on the other. Each side can run their country like they want. In 10 years the republicans can bail out the failed democratic side.
