Seeing spiders, webbing, crawlers out of the corner of you eyes, could be pineal gland is activated while you're sleeping. I have seen CRAZY things coming out of deep sleeps or meditative states. We only see avery small percentage of the light spectrum, imagine whats out there we can't see!
 Quoting: shadasonic

I know, right? That's scarier than the hallucination in the first place! The whole thing really does give me the feeling that I momentarily merged onto a parallel universe or something. I'm just glad I don't see the SUPER HUGE spiders that some people have mentioned!

the first one i saw was coming out of my SON's eye!!! while he was sleeping. we called it dream spider, i bought a stuffed spider and we named it that too. :) another time it was running up the wall behind where he is sleeping.

fyi my son exhibits NO signs of being 'possessed' or any other such, quite the opposite, and i do not now or ever have sleep disorders.

I fell asleep before and woke up to see a huge black spider crawling near my face in the dark and i reched up and turned on the light freaked out and it was gone.

Also, I have woken up late in the night and it's pitch black in my room late at night, and I saw strands of what looked like web or string floating in the dark and they appeared to be made of crystal. I'd blink constantly and they wouldn't go away. Then I turn on the light and they're gone.

Yes, I've literally just woke up with he same thing and had to check the Internet to see if it could happen. I'm still searching the area where it might've gone.. I daren't go near it as it was huge.

Re: Has Anyone Ever HALLUCINATED A SPIDER When Waking Up?
these days, I wake up and see a tarantula on my closet door on a regular basis. it's dark, the size of my fist, moves and senses when i'm awake.

i'm not even joking.

first time I experienced something like this was when I was about 10 or 11. my grandfather passed away in his home; fell down some basement steps. was down there for days before we found out. the day we show up at his place, he passed. in a dream, I visited his home. I was playing with a bouncy ball; just throwing it against walls like I would always do. it fell down the basement steps. the next thing I know, I was no longer dreaming. things went dark. heard someone call my name. woke up only to find my grandpa standing at the foot of my bed. haven't seen him in a while. he must have found his place.

in another scenario, I would wake to see a girl by my window. i'd wake up, she'd look at me, then disappear.

now, I wake to tarantulas. this morning it noticed I saw it, and quickly crawled into my closet.

sleep doctors probably think we need meds. I think all of us have a gift to see. my guess it's the astral plane.

This is similar to the one I had. I grabbed it off my face and sat up screaming, waving my arm and hand around trying to throw it away, but it hung onto me. My husband woke up and saw he flapping my arm and grabbed me saying "It's okay, it's okay." I screamed louder thinking he was stopping me from letting go off it. It took ages for me to realize there was no spider. Scary!

Re: Has Anyone Ever HALLUCINATED A SPIDER When Waking Up?
huh! And I thought it was just me. For years (roughly 10 years), I've frequently woken to "spiders" (typically one spider at any given time) dangling in mid-air right above my face, or crawling along the nearest wall. Naturally, the spider is gone when the lights are flipped on.

So ... it's either:

a) a remnant of another dimension
b) a hallucination due to a sleep disorder (but which disorder?)
c) pineal gland awakening

Hmmmm.

Oh, someone mentioned that eye floaters is a symptom of a liver problem. Weird - that has not been mentioned anywhere when I recently searched about eye floaters.

Can someone provide a link to more information on this correlation?

Re: Has Anyone Ever HALLUCINATED A SPIDER When Waking Up?
Yep. I've seen them. The ones I see are black with red dots. The abdomen part of them is about he size of a grapefruit and they walk funny. They scurry to the darkest shadows on the ceiling when they realize I can see them.

I even saw one with a missing part on the end of one of its legs, it couldn't get away as fast as the other ones, it made me laugh. The ones that don't make it to the shadows fade out over time as I am waking up.

I've also seen some kind of mechanical hovering device in the room, some kind of drone or something, usually after waking up from a nightmare. They fade out quickly when I stare at them too.

Also, they disappear pretty much instantly if I tell them to depart in the name of Jesus.

Used to happen to me every now and then over the years but spiders used to give me the creeps, now I'm used to spiders and I have not had that happen since, however I've had other hallucinations but they do not scare me often because I know I am in between awake and asleep. I actually saw a small red dragon a few weeks ago.

I have hallucinated networks of spider webs on the ceiling and walls after waking up, but not big black hairy spiders.

That must have been freaky!

i dreamed i was in a really beautiful setting with a golden sky and an elephant climbed up a huge spider web mound in the ground. it jumped down a hole at the top (kinda like a small spider web volcano) i climbed up and looked what was down the hole but can't rember anything else. i once woke up and a small alien creature was watching me sleep tho. that was scary.. i tried to scream but my body froze. then i blacked out. i'm not saying it was real.. but it was

Re: Has Anyone Ever HALLUCINATED A SPIDER When Waking Up?
These hallucinatory episodes are called REM intrusions - REM is rapid eye movement associated with dreaming. REM intrusion is an episode where elements of dreams are overlaid on observed 'reality', making the experience appear utterly real, because the subject is partly awake and partly dreaming. Hallucinatory content can be visual, auditory or both.

I have had it, it's cool, I love it. So much fun.

I've seen ghosts, aliens, goblins, spiders and all sorts of weird phenomena that disappears rapidly when I wake up quickly.

Just the mind flushing psychoactive neural trypamines likely DMT.

No. A week or so ago while falling asleep at night I felt something crawl up my face, could have been a spider. That scared the crap out of me.
 Quoting: Haelo

Apparently right before you fall asleep and right when you wake up are likely times for hallucinations. But why spiders?! That's so scary!
 Quoting: scorpio66

when you wake up and dose off your dreams can start before and finish after you have already woke up, like sleep paralysis does

I frequently have a sensation of a spiders web across my face / nose / eyes. Itchy tingly but nothings there. Also itchy eyes all the time. Very annoying. Ive heard it may be an odd symptom of morgellons. I also have odd sores that wont heal on my arms. I better stop maybe a diffrent subject, lol.

Re: Has Anyone Ever HALLUCINATED A SPIDER When Waking Up?
I forgot about this thread!

When I started it, I was working overnights so my sleep schedule was pretty wonky so the explanation of it being a weird, in between awake and asleep thing made sense...

But I'm back to normal hours and still see them. It happens maybe once a month or less, but it is still happening. It's not always spiders anymore either. One time it was what looked like a Shrek baby scrabbling across the floor. The size of a chihuahua!

And I can literally see these things fade out. They don't just disappear instantly. Super weird.

Now that I know it's an hallucination, it doesn't freak me out too much. Well, the thing I see doesn't freak me out -- the fact that I'm having a hallucination is a bit concerning though!

well, this is a bit off of a response to your question...but, i came home one evening, and spiders come out in the dark...and i SWEAR i saw one on the wall, and thought ( how did he manage to disappear SO FAST before i flipped the switch) well.... as i turned the light on, couldnt find him anywhere...10 minutes later, i turn the light off, and wait... go back to the wall i saw it on,and there he was in the very bottom corner hiding. i thought i was hallucinating...THEY ARE CLEVER.

May as well bump this...

I have had this happen many times, most recently just last night. Almost always spiders, or seeing a person...eventually they fade out as I become 100% awake.

Re: Has Anyone Ever HALLUCINATED A SPIDER When Waking Up?
YEP! I just finished replying to another post about the shadow spiders when waking. My door opened to these experiences when I was in the dorms.. The shadow people tortured me and I had NO idea what was going on... there was also a shadow cat that would run over my head (no cats in my dorm!) I thought the college counselor wanted to commit me and that was before I had learned about sleep paralysis/hypnogogia and the ancient lore of the Djinn.

About the spiders... yes, I have seen so many I can't count. You wake up in the dead of night or even when the sun is up in the morning and you can see these LARGE black spiders walking up the wall just as clear as day. Eyes wide open and the things just disappear into thin air! The spiders do not frighten me but the shadow people and gremlins did! The shadow people just piss me off because of the initial fright of waking up paralyzed and getting suffocated or poked. GRRR!

My suggestion is: learn how to control your fear and tell them to GO AWAY as you would an intruder. They usually do unless the shadow presence is REALLY powerful and you may have to move... Been in this home 9 years and only one gremlin incidence and I knew he was just passing through...

Re: Has Anyone Ever HALLUCINATED A SPIDER When Waking Up?
Yes, but not spiders, but roaches. I moved to Florida and you do see them, big ones.
I kept a glass of water beside my bed and once at night a sentence kept running through my head...."there's a roach in your glass". Over and over. I was thirsty and kept arguing with myself, because it was still dark outside, that my imagination is overactive and who could possibly be warning my about the roach.
Well, still in the dark, I reached for the glass and put it toward my mouth when I heard a noise in the glass. I finally put the light on and nearly screamed because there was really a huge roach in the glass.
This has puzzled me ever since and has reinforced my belief in guardian angels.
