Anonymous Coward User ID: 19893594 United States 07/21/2012 07:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | An executive from a Tokyo Electric Power Co. subcontractor tried to force its workers at the crisis-hit Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant to cover their radiation monitoring meters with plates made of lead in an apparent attempt to underreport radiation exposure, sources close to the matter said Saturday. Quoting: dikkie [link to english.kyodonews.jp] [link to enenews.com] The only thing that should be covered with lead plates are the actual workers.... That exec needs to be anchered to all of the lead plates inside #3.... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1295673 United States 07/21/2012 11:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This type of report is the tip of the iceberg.. Early on in the crisis, I discovered that many groups of workers had no dosimeters.. No dosimeters.. no limits on worker exposure. When pressed, tepco reported that it was normal for a group of workers to have only one worker with a dosimeter because there weren't enough to go around. Bull shit.. The simple truth is that the catastrophe has been managed from on high, to minimize and discount reports of exposures and radiation emissions, from the start. This become immediately apparent, if you've been paying attention, by the recent internal correspondence reported by enformable.. Why? Because it is a huge public relations disaster for the nuclear industry on the whole.. not just japan. They will not give up nuclear power because there is an enormous investment in it.. here, and throughout the world.. too late to back down. Trillions upon trillions of dollars are at stake. The public be damned.. they don't fucking care if they kill a few people.. hundreds.. thousands.. millions..collateral damage to them. So.. tepco and japan are allowed to take the fall.. to continue to bumble along their way.. without the weight of the entire resources of the industry.. experts and money.. the things that could make an immediate difference in the long term effects of the disaster.. This is unconscionable.. and it's happening.. Right under our noses. ~ |

I am not surprised, when you have more than 35.000 Workers there is always a bit wrong in it, collateral Damage! The information leaks from japan are not from lack of censorship.. The temp workers in japan deserve the same rights to health insurance and protection from harm as any other nuclear worker. More, in fact, as they are doing hazardous duty, daily. But, that costs money.. ~ |
Adamic Seed nli User ID: 20216834 Canada 07/21/2012 12:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Are you kidding me? NO, they don't, won't CAN'T. From being gay to admitting seeing a ufo, being feared of being labeled a kook, to not fitting in. NO one has the courage to stand against the Top Dog, so as in the wolf pack, we back down, to avoid a losing confrontation. As humans, we camouflage ourselves, dress alike, so as not to stand out. To stand out means to be challenged, and then you get voted off the Island. In spirituality, honesty is the basis of enlightenment yet truthers are despised, and for being fringe dwellers It sucks but we are animals so its OK. Even our white blood cells are overarching bullies who eat the good flesh around a wound. Shockingly, we hide the truth from ourselves. Too painful to face the pain of our past injuries, to face the cosmic bully and risk annihilation in the battle, we concoct a fantasy image which we hold of ourselves, and project to others. This is the way we avaid insanity, or rather, the insane way we avoid annihilation. With our current world view, we can't hope to win against the predator. With an insightful one, won through honest self evaluation, we can see a different way out of this prison of lies. If you don't overcome your abuse, confront and stop lying, cry, deal in a socially acceptable manner your anger at being oppressed, you might escape from being a bully yourself, and actually help other victims. The innovators have to have courage and try try against all opposition, the mythical Hero returns after fighting in the underworld and brings back riches to us in everyday life. Lemmings running off a cliff The the solution is the disease the hero is the bad guy and everybody lies. Welcome to the monkey house! Ascension is finally loving the betrayer |

If a worker hits the yearly allowed dose they have to leave and be replaced. Of course the Japanese government has raised the allowed yearly dosage considerably since the start of all this. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 10834111 United States 07/21/2012 03:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Criminal? Fukushima Daiichi workers told to rip open radiation protection suits and insert lead plates — “Make sure nobody sees what you are doing” — Threatened with being fired Workers at the crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant were ordered to cover their dosimeters with lead plates to keep radiation doses low enough to continue working under dangerous conditions, the Asahi Shimbun has learned. [...] the man in charge, a senior official of a subcontractor of Tokyo Electric Power Co., warned them that they would lose their jobs–and any chance of employment at other nuclear plants–if they failed to comply. [...] A number of the workers explained the process in detail. And one of them provided The Asahi Shimbun with a recording of a meeting the Build-Up foreman had with defiant workers on the night of Dec. 2 [...] He ordered the workers to draw lines on the plate and cut out pieces using special scissors. The workers then used vises and hammers to reshape the pieces so that they would cover the front, sides and bottom of their personal dosimeters. [...] Another worker gave his opinion: “I think this is almost a crime.” The foreman retorted: “Did I ever coerce you? I am just saying, ‘Please do it if you can convince yourself to do it for your own sake.’” [...] Once inside the Build-Up vehicle, each worker would be given a lead cover. The workers were to rip their protection suits, cover their personal dosimeters with the lead sheaths and cover the tears in their protective suits with tape. “Make sure nobody sees what you are doing,” he told each worker. “Did you understand? You’ll do so, won’t you?” [link to ajw.asahi.com] [link to enenews.com] |

closing eyes User ID: 1834509 United States 07/21/2012 03:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Watched it and don't think he was lying. Quoting: stillhere In real life when "bad" things happen people act differently than they do in the movies/TV. People look around them and pay attention to how others are behaving. They don't know what is really happening. The whole thing is hard to believe. (for the people there) For instance--real gunfire sounds nothing like it does on TV/movies--in real life it is like fireworks--pop. pop,pop....not BANG!! Have you ever been in an airplane when heavy turbulance hits? The plane starts to shake--it is really scary, and images of "movie plane crashes" come to mind--yet everyone remains calm--no screaming. In the maternity ward in the hospital--there is no screaming--it is very quiet--mothers in real life don't scream out. Been there twice this is my experience. When you are in a car accident, or hit unexpectedly the pain is not there (at first), shock takes over and you are bewildered. So, no I am not surprised there was no screaming and people did not act like they were in a movie. Gunshots in real life sound p pop pop? Are you kidding? Have you ever shot a gun? They most certainly go BANG! Wtf is going on in this world ? Absolute criminal crazyness. If you woke up breathing, you have another chance! |
