Maybe he used his grant money. Holmes had recently withdrawn from a competitive graduate program in neuroscience at the University of Colorado-Denver, where he was one of six students at the school to get National Institutes of Health grant money. [ link to www.huffingtonpost.com] Quoting: WindyMind Those are education grants paid to the school. The students don't pocket the cash. Quoting: AZGal 1486221 Oh, so where he got the money is still a question. Quoting: WindyMind Incorrect. Depends of the setup of the grant or fellowship. Many include a stipend for personal living expenses, paid out annually. My fiancé, a grad student, gets ~35k per year stipend from her national science grant on top of tuition and research assistance.
