Instead you need a higher number of working adults to children, this way they can provide for the young, insuring the survival of the young.

Gays and lesbians would have been child rearing adults who would not be adding to the stress of the tribe/population by having children. They would be adults and would be gathering/hunting and other stuff, thus helping to insure the survival of the children.

The reality is that few homosexuals are pedophiles. This is a myth generated by a hate-biased mentality. The truth is that homosexuals tend to make better parents than straight people.

Why is this? Because they have both male and female influence in their being, thus are able to nurture and be provider at the same time.

Study after study has shown that a homosexual male makes a better teacher for children. Why? Because he can more readily relate, still performing as a strong 'male figure' but being sensitive enough to have a maternal touch.

Study after study is revealing that kids raised in two same gendered parent households are doing far better than a majority of kids raised by their own parents.

This strongly ties back in to the need for gays and lesbians and how having adults who were not procreating (producing young) to tend the young insures the survival of the species.

Both homosexuality and heterosexuality are necessary for the development of the human species and advancement of our society. We were not all born to simply breed and die.

There is a distinct evolutionary advantage to have a segment of your population unencumbered by children. Individuals without children tend to take higher risks and can devote more time to "hunting and gathering" thus strengthening the "tribal unit" by providing resources without the associated mouths to feed. Genetically speaking this gives a distinct advantage to one gene pool over another.
