 Has any Pope ever blessed any aspect of any Olympic game prior to this one? 
"He added that because of the global nature of the event, the Catholic Church viewed the Olympics “with particular sympathy and attention.” Um, to the best of my recollection, the Olympics were always a global event. Why the 'particular sympathy and attention'? Seriously, WTF?
