Just a few factoids that will not register in the liberal mind.

1. We have run a budget deficit of around 1.5 trillion per year since the socialist took over. More federal programs means more deficit spending. The on the books debt has gone from 10.5 trillion in Jan 09 to almost 16 trillion now. The unfunded liabilities for OASDI/HI are an additional 60 trillion. We can never pay it off, and it is doubtful there is enough available capital in the world to finance our deficit going forward.

2. This year we are spending more borrowed money than tax revenue. That's right, more than 50 cents of every federal dollar spent is borrowed.

3. Last fiscal year, the federal government took in 2.2 trillion in tax revenue. Social Security (OASDI) and Medicare (HI) + Medicaid + defense, + interest on the debt totaled 2.8 trillion. We had a 600 billion deficit if you just consider those programs.

4. There are now about 3 workers providing the benefits for each OASDI/HI recipient. If you add in those collecting Medicaid/food stamps/TANF + government workers now on pensions, the ratio is about one worker to each beneficiary.

What we are dealing with is the destruction of the concept of personal responsibility. The (dwindling number of) productive people in the country have a right to ask when someone else is going to start paying their bills.

I live in the Peoples' Democratic Socialist Republic of Illinois. Medicaid is bleeding the budget dry, in a state that is already bankrupt, even if no one acknowledges it.

The recent Medicaid overhaul, effective July 1, limits Medicaid recips to 4 prescriptions per month. Talking to pharmacist friend, people are squawking over that.

Now Obamacare will add 150,000-200,000 more to the Medicaid rolls. That will add about another half billion per year to Illinois' growing deficit. The state is already over 14 billion in the hole, and growing every day. Plus, in 2017 the public employees' pension funds run out, adding a 14 billion per year burden to the state.

You don't have to be a genius to see how this is going to end up. But you do have to be a damned idiot to keep voting for socialists. And they (the idiots) are legion.

I completely dislike Obie from the start, I just don;t consider him my president.

However, My 93 yr old Dad has very fond memories of fishing in a pond that the original Civilian Conservation Corps created.
The original Civilian Conservation Corps or CCC as Dad called it has done some really wonderful and super pretty work, like make granite steps at notional parks and rock bridges and more.

I think it is perfectly grand idea to reinstate another Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC corp) especially for those people out of work that desperately need money for labor, those that are abusing welfare that could put in a days work too.

People were starving post-depression and needed money very vad to support their families and that was why the original Civilian Conservation Corps was formed.

The CCC was never about cheap slave labor as many idiots will try to make you believe, it was successful because American's back in those days refused to take handouts and welfare due to their very great pride, something that almost everyone now days had lost.

I don't elect a president to create jobs. What kind of jobs can a president create anyway? Have you ever really thought through the proposition that a politician can create jobs?

The only jobs a president can create are in government, by definition. So we will see the growth of government if we want the president to create jobs.

More government workers means less individual freedom. Take your pick. More government jobs or more individual freedom.
