""Never mind that Paul says he hasn't decided if he will endorse Mitt Romney or not -- he's still getting a welcome to Tampa.""

I hope this means something important, because these two guys out there trying are wack!!

Re: Ron Paul going to Tampa!!
Does he have a chance of getting the nomination?

How does it work? Do they have a last vote and winner takes all?

I really have no idea how american politics works.

I defer that question to professionals. But I am surprised that they would allow him after so many reports prettyt much stated that Ron Paul would NOT be at the convention. This gives me some hope

Re: Ron Paul going to Tampa!!
Jesse Benton:::

"Benton said Paul's movement has matured enough to remain relevant well past the primary contests. For instance, the congressman said in June he expects to have about 500 delegates and alternates in the convention hall out of the total of about 4,400."

I know it's a long shot but if he could just convince most delegates, it would be sooo crazy..

I feel like Ron Paul gave up. Why work so hard for so long and not go out swinging? I know he's still working hard in CONgress, but what happened? Why wouldn't he run 3rd party? It's all very disappointing. peace

How is he working hard in Congress? He missed a fairly large number of votes because he prefers money begging instead of doing the job he is paid to do.

That's been a theory floating around in my local Campaign For Liberty group. Let Obamarx and Mittens tear each other to shreds, waste money, RP jumps in like a fresh breath of air, snags some delegates at the convention and good to go. Last I heard the Texas primaries pretty much were the final nail in the coffin unfortunately. The Campaign for Liberty will still continue trying to get liberty minded individuals into public office. It's not about just one election.

Me personally, I wrote in RP in 08 but after seeing 4 years of Obama i'm going to have to BEGRUDGINGLY vote for Shit Romney this time around :(

Re: Ron Paul going to Tampa!!

Some pundits tried to discount him long ago, but it seems Ron Paul 2012 keeps chugging along. Sure, Paul supporters have feuded with state Republican parties across the country, battling for delegate seats at the national convention. But the national party is welcoming Paul and his supporters to the event with open arms, even helping the Texas congressman organize his troops.

Well there it is, they've been treating him like shit on the end of a stick, and now all of a sudden they're, 'welcoming him with open arms'.

That means he's no longer a threat to them.

Re: Ron Paul going to Tampa!!
“Another source of concern among establishment Republicans is the fact that Paul supporters and libertarian voters are planning a series of rallies, speeches, and concerts in and around Tampa in the days leading up to the convention to draw attention to their views and celebrate Paul’s career,” U.S. News and World Report said. “The concern is that many of them will get stirred up and stage protests against the GOP or Romney if Paul and his delegates aren’t treated with respect or if their views are ignored in the GOP platform.”

I'm fairly certain he did not give up. From the news reports I read he technically has the right to be nominated at the convention because he had a plurality of delegates in 5 or more states........ so he must be allowed (welcomed) to participate, otherwise the farce would be exposed.

I am debating whether or not to attend his rally before the convention. At this point I just want him to be able to give the speech of his life in front of National TV, although I think they will find a way to not televise it if they can.

Sounds like you may be right :(

The treatment of Ron Paul and the rampant fraud committed at the local committees has been sickening. I'm strongly considering leaving the party all together after throwing my vote at Shitt Romney :-/ Constitution Party or Libertarian? hmmmm

Guys, don't vote for Willard or Huessien
How can we expect delegates to vote their conscience when we wont?

You CAN NOT be in two places at once, but you already knew that. Obviously you don't want him in any position of control.

I must ask the question of you........ How does a political candidate pay for anything if they are not filthy rich?

In all honesty you seem just a tad ignorant on the subject OR you wish to put him in a negative light......Hmmmm which is it?
