So, I've been thinking about the police state and it got me wondering about the overall military industrial complex. I'm starting to think that the gears of war can never be stopped. Our country has been in near-perpetual war for a hundred years. But why?
We know this industry exists and that it profits during time of war and we know that we've been in armed conflict for more than a generation.
Is the reason we're so actively involved internationally because if the military industrial complex were at home, we would live in a totalitarian society under the strong arm?
What if our politicians know the power of the military industrial complex and that's why they constantly focus its attention abroad (Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, Pakistan, Iraq, etc)?
Local police departments are also directly involved with the military industrial complex. Our police forces are buying tanks, old military helicopters, armor vehicles, drones and the like.
Just pondering outloud. |
