It seems to me the government should be losing a lot of money by putting so many people in prison for drug related offenses. I don't get that part.

We have known - that is why despite all the evidence of harm and lack of proof re: harm reduction & or curtailing of use - they still push for the WAR ON DRUGS...

It's never been about getting people off drugs and preventing kids from starting or the social and financial cost of addiction to our society. It's all about the money. It always has been.

I think most people realise what the hard truth is in dealing with the drug problem and the gangs associated with this activity – Legalise all illegal drugs and manage it. The major Pharmaceutical, alcohol and cigarette multinationals have already done this. Build up a user data-base and give users allocated areas to medicate.
