Took my son to an observatory (?) when he was about three. We were sitting in the theatre with lots of others when the stars appeared on the screen above and started moving.

"Where are we going, Mom?" he yelled.

Cracked up everyone.

And at about two he told me I was the best mom he'd ever had. I said, I'm your only mom.

"No," he insisted. "I've had lots of moms, but you're the best one ever." hf

When my son was 3 he said:

I will NEVER go and work in a company like you daddy.
Companies are evil because they keep daddies for a whole day. Daddies should stay home whole day to play with the childeren.

He is now seventeen and still doesn't want to go there.

My daughter was about 5 yrs old when we lived above our grocery store, one day we were getting ready to have supper and I realized we were out of milk, so she volunteered to go get some for us from the store. She ran down stairs and Grandpa was still in his office when she went by to go into the store, he called her when he saw her and said he wanted a kiss and hug, she responded "I can't right now Grampa, I have to get milk and "I can't do two things at twice!".

We've all bugged her about that to this day, she's 24 now. She still can't do "Two things at Twice (once)". chuckle

Well one thing i remember my daughter saying to me when she was about 7 was she was holding a toy that santa had brought her for christmas and she said, if santa made this at the north pole how come it says made in china. I was caught off guard and wanted to laugh and i couldnt look at her for fear i would give something away so i just hurried into the kitchen mumbling something. I thought how clever for her to realise that.

My daughter was two and ,while she was being potty trained she looked at me and said "Mom be patient, the best things come from being patient".

Anyone else have something said to them from their child or a child, that sticks with you?

Re: What was the best or most memorable thing your child has said to you?
I have two boys and they tell me daily that they love me and that I'm the best mom they could ever have! That just Melts me.

They have also both told me that when they grow up, they want to be just like me. They want to stay home with their kids and be with them all the time!
I wasn't quite sure what to say to that! Lol

chuckle

They both still give me hugs and kisses everyday. I'll be sad when they are older and they stop doing that as much.

Being boys though, they do tend to shock me daily with some of the stuff they say in regards to just being Boys! Sometimes I'm speechless and in shock, and other times they having me laughing so hard I practically pee myself.

I think being here on GLP and reading all the silly guy comments is helping me to understand the way boys/guys talk, and just to laugh it off most of the time.

Boys seem to like to talk about body parts a lot I've noticed!

It's like there's a new word or phrase every month.

This months word is, Ball-Sack! It's in many sentences. Lol

I just have to laugh!

When my youngest daughter was in kindergarten the teacher was talking to another soon to be mother. My daughter told her that I wouldn't be having anymore children because "I had my tonquils tied" ;-) Said like I spelled it.

Yep, a year before I had my tonsils out and had just had my tubes tied the month before. Somehow she put the two together.

Her Kindergarten teacher was still laughing when I went to pick her up. Slightly embarrassing. :-) She knew too much.

Funny one:

I once gave my 3yr old nephew a dollar and asked him what he was going to do with it?

He turned to me and said " I'm gonna lose it."

Kids have a way with honesty... lol

I took my boy to his first swimming lessons when he was 4..we lived a block from the swimming pool so we walked...on the way home he was upset because he was scared to go under water..He looked up at me and said "Dad, this is the worst day of my life"...I about died on the inside laughing...

When he was in 1st grade I fell asleep on the couch..I was suppose to pick him up from school(3 blocks away)...he walked in and slammed the door and walked straight to his room saying ---You just wait till mom gets home...lmao

To be honest, I don't know if she had heard that some where else, or not. She has always been wise for her years, like an old soul. It wasn't the first time she had said something to me that stopped me in my tracks, even at that young age.

My son was 4 years old when his father stopped by a convenience store in town one day. Entering the store was a young girl with huge breasts and a halter top on. My husband of course was bugged eyed looking at her and my son noticed this. After my husband went into the store, my son slid next to me in the car, put his little chubby arm around my neck and said, don't worry Mama, you have big boobies when you grow up.

When my son was five and my daughter was born, my sister took him to see the newborns through the viewing glass in the hospital. she said he was very quiet for a few moments before asking her, "Auntie, I see the female babies have pink cards in their bassinets and the males have blue ones, but this baby here doesn't have any card, does that mean its a hermaphrodite?" She just about peed herself relaying this story to us.

My son has always been extremely intelligent and well spoken for his age. He is now19 and I have been constantly astounded by his depth of knowledge on a variety of complex subjects. He is truly an old soul.

This is a very sweet thread! Its nice to see stuff like this to remind of us what's really important.

My story:
About a year ago, my daughter then 4 says "Mommy, I had a magic carpet and I could go anywhere I wanted." I asked her "Well, where would you go since you could go anywhere?". Swinging on her swing set, she looks at me and says "Nowhere, this is where I want to be, so I gave my magic carpet to Edie (a friend of hers)".

Just melted my heart that she wanted to be here at home with me even with the option of being anywhere she could have wanted:)

"My mom said the bow goes in the front, and my mom is always right!"

I said the bow on the shirt always goes on the front... but she was talking about a bathing suit with a bow on the back, lol.

And bless her, she wore that bathing suit backwards the whole day, because darn it, my mom is always right.

lmao

My son is 22 , and has always been overly dramatic. About 5 years ago he had a case of poison ivy and you would have thought he was at deaths door the way he moaned and wailed about it. I laugh to this day at the fact that he described poison ivy as a 'debilitating disease'.

After the first Madagascar movie came out. My husband & I took our daughter, who was about 2 years old, to a fairly empty shoe store (very quiet) and she saw Madagascar themed shoes and yells really loud: "Look, they have Magic-Ass-Car shoes!". I think the checkout lady was pentecostal--she had that look. We were so embarrassed because we couldn't stop laughing!
