My daughter was two and ,while she was being potty trained she looked at me and said "Mom be patient, the best things come from being patient".

Anyone else have something said to them from their child or a child, that sticks with you?

Don't have kids, but my nephew once said he wanted to change his last name to mine because I was such a great uncle.

There are so many, so I'll just go with the one from about 3 hours ago that my 10 year old said to me.

I was explaining to her that she and her 12 year old brother shouldn't swim so close to each other in the pool. She had accidently kicked him in the head yesterday and I was afraid one of them would accidentally knock the other one out, causing the one that got knocked out to drown. Paranoid, I know, but I felt I needed to explain it to her, lol.

So she says "Mom, stop talking about it and worrying about things so much. The more you think and talk about it, the more likely it is to happen, so just stop thinking about it and it won't happen."

Easier said than done, lol.

Took my son to an observatory (?) when he was about three. We were sitting in the theatre with lots of others when the stars appeared on the screen above and started moving.

"Where are we going, Mom?" he yelled.

Cracked up everyone.

And at about two he told me I was the best mom he'd ever had. I said, I'm your only mom.

"No," he insisted. "I've had lots of moms, but you're the best one ever." hf

We take care of unwanted animals (cavys), and my daughter (12) and I once talked about how spoiled all our animals are.
She said: Mom, we're all spoiled - all except you..!

LOL!! My daughter when she was five told me to give up trying to figure out what was wrong with the computer. I should leave it to dad or her because I am "computer internet". She heard her dad say that I was computer illiterate lol!

Last night my 5 year old son kept getting up...first to get a drink...then to use the potty...you know all the old tricks to staying awake, and then he came into the living room and said "mom i have a secret for you" and said "that's it you need to get to bed right now" and he went back to his room, a little later i went in to check on him and he was laying there with his eyes open and I said "your not asleep yet" and he said i have to tell you something, and i said ok go ahead and he said i have to tell you in your ear....so he got up and put his little hands on my face and said "your the best mom in the whole world....and my heart was crushed and so happy at the same time....he wanted to tell me so bad an hour before that i didn't let him, but you know i just had this nagging feeling so i went back in and I'm so glad that i did.

Re: What was the best or most memorable thing your child has said to you?
After the first transformer movie came out my son loved everything transformers. We were parked at a light and the convertible next to us put its top down and it was one that the back opens to put the top in, and he saw that and got SUPER excited and yelled "MOMMY ITS A TRANSFORMER!!!!" :)

And when his little brother was born and was in the NICU, he saw me pumping and asked what I was doing (he was 3 1/2 yrs old). I told him I had to take the milk out to take it to the hospital fo the baby since he couldnt come home yet and he looked at me for a min and asked "do you make juice too?" :)

My little one is 4 now and not long ago we were talking about going to miami. And he heard us and came over all excited and asked "can I go to your ami with you?" :)

No kids of my own but my step kids have said "You know everything! You're smarter than Google!" (When they ask me something that I don't know I often google it real fast to find an answer for them. Besides hearing "I love you" from my two youngest step kids, the most memorable I would say came from my 7 year old step son when he told me "If you beat up my dad, I would still love you." (Their real dad is a real douchebag)

"Dad, when I grow up I want to be just like you."

My six year old son told me that a few weeks ago out of the blue. After going through a nasty separation and divorce in which he (around 3 at the time) was exposed to much of the fighting, well it just showed how far things have turned around and how much healing has taken place in relatively short order. I'll never forget how I felt when he said that to me.

Children are very resilient. Showing you are always there and that they are your number one priority speaks volumes, even if things don't work out for the parents. I bet when your son said that it lifted a weight off your shoulders, reassuring you that you are doing a good job.

When my son was three, he was very chatty and always had a "million" questions about everything. One day, my husband took him to Home Depot. So, as usual, he's loudly chatting away, and then he looked up at the huge ceilings, and asked, "Daddy, who built this place?" "Construction workers," my husband answered. My son was silent for about two seconds and then said, "Boy, they must have been BIG!"

My husband said he could hear people laughing even the next aisle over.

Funny one:

I once gave my 3yr old nephew a dollar and asked him what he was going to do with it?

He turned to me and said " I'm gonna lose it."

Kids have a way with honesty... lol
