What was the best or most memorable thing your child has said to you?

Yeah, it did. That was a big part of it. His mother is a career preschool teacher so when we were together she was the 'expert' so to speak and well I was sorta always following her lead as a parent. He was very attached to her at that age so anytime we would fight, which was often in the end, my son would walk up to me and start hitting me. That got to me too. I thought with what he had gone through at that age, that it would be a very long time before he would have a healthy appreciation for me again.

And it's helped that I can just be me as a parent now and not have to worry about conflict with someone else, and learn at my own pace.

My son when he was about 5 years old, (grown man now) asked why we never has ostrich's for dinner. why would we eat an Ostrich. Cause he had been learning the Australian Anthem. and the line where it says '" australians all let us rejoice for we are young and free." He was singing, Australians all eat Ostrich's cause we are young and free.
LOL. So funny. He was such a cutey.

2 days ago I was holding my 3 year old Granddaughter in my lap when she looked up at me and said " Mamaw you're a ho " !

Well you could have knocked me out with a feather ! She was smiling so sweetly ! I said " honey where did you hear that word from " ?

I called my Daughter to see if she had said this word at home and she said no !

We were stumped and surprised that our Sweetheart would talk that way, but we just played it cool and told her she shouldn't use that word again.

To this she started crying and said I was a ho and she needed me !

After hugging her and calming her down, she then said her mommy and daddy said they needed a "hoe" for their "garden" to make their work easier, she thought of ME !

I had just had a big talk with her last week about how little girls had Mamaws to help them when they needed it and would always help and love her no matter what !

Shewwww ! I learned not to jump to conclusions ! haha

My six-year old granddaught said to me one day, 'Nan, I've got some really bad news for you'. 'Oh, no, what is it?' 'You're elderly and your body will stop working soon. But don't worry, I'll take care of you.' Funny how I missed that! ;)

Two daughters 4 and 5

Oldest one comes running up crying saying that "sissy called me a bad name"...

I asked her what sissy said. She said she didn't want to say it because it was bad. I told her it was OK to say it just to me.

So she puts her lips to my ear and says "She called me a libbal democat"...and she started crying again.

I FREAKIN LOST IT.

I called little sissy into the room and asked her where she heard those words and why did she call her sister that.

She said she heard her daddy say that "libbal democats" are stupid because they want to take other people's money and stuff....and big sister took her toy.

My husband called Rush Limbaugh and told him the story on air and they got a big laugh....

He was disappointed when I said no lol. I love telling that one, he will never live that one down lol :)

LOL, sounds like something that'd happen at our house.

The tornadoes of April 27, 2011 seem to have had an unexpected effect around here. Starting back last summer it seems like all the women of childbearing age who don't have problems conceiving got pregnant sometime within the year following the storms. In our family alone, we've had two babies born this year with another due at the end of the year. Upon hearing about this latest one, our eldest asked, "How do people keep from having babies?"

It wasn't a question you would expect from a not quite six-year-old.

Oh, I have lots of good ones. My son is 9 now, but when he was younger, he cracked me up almost every day.

"Mommy, you're so beautiful -- like the sun and the moon combined... Even though, close-up, the moon really doesn't look so great."

Leaning against my backside while I was reading on the bed: "Your butt gives me peace."

In the diner, while I was going to the bathroom.
Customer: "Did you send your mom away?"
My Husband: "Yes, but she keeps coming back."
My son: "Like a really slow boomerang."

I: "We should take some walks together -- I need to lose some weight."
My son (ca. 4), looking me up and down: "Ooookay... but I don't know what good that'll do."

My son: "Today at school we saw a picture of a snake with two heads. But that's good, right?"
I: "Why do you think that?"
He: "Well, they say, two heads are better than one..."

My friend's 3-year-old granddaughter went with her pregnant mom and grandma to the doctor to witness the first ultrasound.
My friend: "So, are you excited about the baby?"
The little girl, sadly: "Yes, but Mommy ate it."

One day I said to my 5 year old, "Do you ever stop talking?" and he replied with "Mum, I have a mouth". lol

Ah yes, my husband and kids refer them as " here comes the Popo" lol.. No idea why..

My son is 22 , and has always been overly dramatic. About 5 years ago he had a case of poison ivy and you would have thought he was at deaths door the way he moaned and wailed about it. I laugh to this day at the fact that he described poison ivy as a 'debilitating disease'.

As my son was putting on dry pants he said, "If you see a bathroom in your dream, don't use it."

When my 24 yr. old son was 5, he said....."You're the best mom I've ever had!".......lol, he's not adopted! Now he tells me that he's grateful to me for insisting his sister and him use good manners, and for teaching him to QUESTION AUTHORITY! He always did well in school, but he did drive his teachers crazy, lol.

My 21 yr. old daughter recently said to me..."Thanks Mom for being healthy and in good shape! Evidently alot of her friend's parents are over-weight and on all kinds of meds!

Good morning every one!

Last night my son made me laugh, as well as frustrate me...with his common sense of course. You see for his fourth birthday a few months ago we bought him some Nano Bugs and Hex Bugs.. for anyone who doesn't know what they are, they are a mini robotic bug, that well.. act like a bugs. It scurries, it stops in sudden light or sudden noise. They are actually quite cool looking.

Anyhow, last night after tucking him into bed, I hear giggling. I ask hubby to go check out what he was up to. I hear an "OH REALLY" and "MOM you better come up here". So up the stairs I go, only to find my son has taken off the air vent cover in his bedroom. I asked him why it was taken off and he said "MOM, we can't keep the bugs in the house, they live in little tunnels under the ground outside." He had turned on all his nano bots (the size of cockroaches) and placed them into the air ducts, so they could "go through the tunnels in the ground to live". I only managed to get two out of the eight!

when my now adult daughter was a bit over 1 she would say "I got burgers in my snose"

When my son was 2 1/2, I asked him, "Where were you before you came...here?...to this world?" He said, "The men...The men wouldn't let me come." I asked a few more follow up questions, but couldn't get him to say any more.

Today while my son was asking a hundred questions and of course waiting for answers, he through one at me that made me laugh.

Him - "Mom, where do fish sleep?"
Me - "They sleep in the water"
Him - "No they don't they sleep in schools, daddy told me they have schools for fish"
Me - "Actually honey, it is called a school of fish, if there are many fish, they all sleep in the water though".

It amazes me how they soak things up like sponges, catalogue it all and throw it all back at you!

Well one thing i remember my daughter saying to me when she was about 7 was she was holding a toy that santa had brought her for christmas and she said, if santa made this at the north pole how come it says made in china. I was caught off guard and wanted to laugh and i couldnt look at her for fear i would give something away so i just hurried into the kitchen mumbling something. I thought how clever for her to realise that.

My three year old told me take it easy Dad I'm just a little kid!
