oh my God...

i honestly dont even know what to say

this technology is going to be used and abused in so many ways

shocked

You are referring to the simple technology of building guns. correct?

Because a working 9mm sub-machine gun can be easily made from parts from Home Depot:

i was thinking more along the lines of this technology becoming microscopic.

essentially a molecular printer...

game over.

What the hell is 3D printing? Why is this the first I'm hearing of it?

The future of manufacturing, that's what. And yes this is entirely possible. It's only a .22.

Re: Afraid of Gun Control? This guy printed a WORKING gun with a 3D printer
"We’ve seen no shortage of 3D-printed masterpieces over the last several months, but this is reportedly the first time that someone has used the technology to create a firearm. It comes from a users on the AR15 message boards, a community for gun fanatics. He used a Stratasys 3D printer to create a .22 pistol. And yes, it actually works; it can shoot bullets just like a normal gun."

As this technology becomes available to more people, it will no doubt become one of the most important technologies available. It provides the capability to extend creativity to the physical reality.

This is real as far as a 3D printer able to make different things such as adjustable wrenches that actually work like the real thing. Just go to YouTube and search it.

Re: Afraid of Gun Control? This guy printed a WORKING gun with a 3D printer
so these '3d printers' use liquid metal or liquid plastic or some shit and are instructed through a digital blueprint fed to them by a computer or something???
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20556919

Some of them use powdered metals, not liquid! That would mean either mercury, liquid at room temperature and highly toxic, or molten lead, aluminium, iron etc.
