HMMMMMMN...What Side of Their Mouths do 'Right-Handed' People Chew On? ('Lefties' Welcome!)

Okay,NO REPLIES! The thing is though—has ANYONE EVER asked this question before?

It's not something you hear talked-about a whole lot...if you NOTICE!

This just caught my eye...it sounds pretty outlandish at first,but I suppose,if it can be proven scientifically,then maybe it may actually be attempted...possibly to help those who—for some reason—have lost their ability to use their congenital hand side...

Both sides but more right side and I am left handed

We righties just eat soft food to avoid wear and tear. We just swallow.

Hmmmmmn...yeah,I KNOW that we ALL chew on "both" sides,but I ALWAYS find myself doing the "HEAVY DUTY" chewing (and that would be chewing Beef,chicken...old shoes!) on the LEFT side of my mouth,so much so,that the jaw muscles on on the left are noticeably larger than those on the right of my jaw!!!???

I even try to balance this out by consciously chewing on the right of my mouth,but after only seconds,naturally switch back to the left.

So...it's starting to appear—with your reply regarding how you eat,concuring with my own natural way of chewing—that 'Left-handed' people MAY chew on their RIGHT,whilst 'Right-handed' people MAY chew on their left...I find that not only fascinating,but also VERY surprising!

p.s.I don't really eat "old shoes";just thought it looked funny.

Folks,do what us PROs do:brush TWICE dailly with a NON-FLOURIDE toothepaste.Use a Hydrogen bomb...AHHHHHEEM!—use a hydrogen peroxide mouthwash to effectively kill harmfull bacteria that live in gum crevices (you can also make a toothepaste of your own using a tiny ammount of 'Dove' soap mixed with Aluminum-FREE baking Soda,and a few drops of 20% h2O2—hydrogen peroxide,it's a cheap alternative to toothepaste,and it's good!).

Hmmmmmn...anyone else notice this? So far,the right-handed people have been saying that they chew on the LEFT side of their mouth,whilst the left-handed are saying they chew on the RIGHT side of their mouth!

It looks pretty consistant so far.Can this be considered as being enough facts to be scientific then?...

If I get TEN MORE replies,stating the same as the ones received already,then I'll consider it to be "scientific";not conclusive,as no REAL,practical tests were carried-out,but it'll be the next best thing though for sure.

Seriously though, so glad that other people have the same eating habit as me...I was beginning to think that I was riskng wearing-out my teeth or something!!!

I am right handed and I always notice that I chew on the left side of my mouth. It just feels more natural. I dont have to think about it. But when I chew on the right side it feels like work lol if that makes any sense at all?

I'm now almost CERTAIN that my chewing is physically normal!!!

I would like to do a BIT of chewing "on the other side" though, you know, it's probably worth learning how to do it, I mean, what with all the advice we get from the pro's to learn more skills for when tshtf and such, knowing how to do it...on BOTH sides!, should come in handy on day!

Even I am right-handed and chew mostly on left side. I heard that left brain controls right side of the body and right brain controls left side. So, while chewing left side could it mean I am using my right brain? simply a query..dont know if there is any direct relation b/w brain and chewing side..

I'm not yet convinced that we have reached a SCIENTIFIC conclusion yet, I mean, I think only about six or seven people have contributed their own personal "eating-data" on this thread, so it's still too early to make any claims that we have the FACTS, and that the FACTS are of conclusive scientific basis, but YOUR (^) question has a lot of legitimacy, friend!

What can I say?...I beleive like you do: Left handed people chew on the right-side of their mouths, whilst right handed people chew on the left side. This DOES sound harmonious with what you have heard regarding how the human brain functions in terms of people's "handedness" and their chewing.
