A couple of years ago the family stayed in St Andrews-By-The-Sea and did the ferry as one of our side trips.I couldn't believe that there was almost no waterfront development outside of a few scattered towns.Hundreds of miles of empty coastline.WOW

That place has miles of undeveloped coastline, a lot of it 300' rock cliffs and a lot of nice beach front. Problem is the locals, while they like your tourism dollars, don't want you living there.

A few years ago Natives got a grant from the Federal government to buy fishing boats and were granted licenses. One group moved to the island to set up shop, the boat was torched.

A drug dealer set up shop and parents burned down his house. They were arrested and found guilty but just got a slap on the wrist otherwise anarchy would have broke out.

These are hard-nose fishermen and you don't fuck with them...period.

I would suspect that if any large developer came in and tried to set up shoreline development and drive property values and taxes up that there may be some more fires.

It is like a country unto its own.
