Religious Zealot in apartment below me makes noise complaints because they stone people to death in her country for listening my music

You can't get cancer from her smoking in another apartment, that - is bullshit. As a matter of fact, it's not smoking that causes most cancers, but that would take a long time to explain to you.

You know what? Metal sucks. And if you have to listen to someone elses, it's pretty horribe. She has a right to not be disturbed by you and your "speakers." I suggest you move, and soon, to someplace that is not this close to people. You'd better realize it now.

My neighbor moved in with a beagle. In a residential neighborhood. I've talked to her about the noise, but for 8 years I've suffered with ear infections from constant use of ear plugs, I've been tired at work, I've had my family members awakened when they desperately needed sleep during illness - this NOISE is purely for your pleasure and you have no regard for other people. Get over yourself.

The person next to me said they don't hear any noise from my apartment. I've used a decibel meter in and around my apartment, in my neighbor's, and on the staircase below. Nothing the floor or wall wouldn't stop. Me taking a shower makes more noise than my work does. She is a religious nut that can't stand secular music. I have to listen to her pray every day and I don't give her shit. I know the smoke through the floor can't give me cancer but it still makes it smell like shit and it still irritates my sinuses. Keep in mind I put in apartment, but this is actually a condominium that I own. Only brought up the smoking because I was ranting. The whole place is professionally soundproofed so no sound gets out and so sound doesn't echo. You can hear yourself think in here.

btw whoever says metal sucks, deal with it. I think country or whatever you listen to probably sucks. I also listen and play other genres. Metal just happens to get me a lot of work from local and regional bands that don't want to sound shit. I don't do any recording in here besides occasionally singing for my indie project and if there's any instruments, I plug direct in to an audio interface and use headphones. All I do is make prerecorded audio sound how it's supposed to. It's not like I have a drumkit or some shit in here

it's not NOISE for PLEASURE. It's my job. These are living and work spaces. There's a guy who fucking builds desks in the same building, she doesn't complain against him.

See if she keeps bothering you after telling her something even more horrible(than metal for her), but pandering to her desires.

Those two lines in bold tell me that your floor is not sound proof. Vibrations passing through the floor boards and joists are difficult and expensive to suppress. All the insulation in the world stuffed under the floor won't suppress deep bass from speakers/woofers set directly or indirectly on the floor.

Just tell her to pray to the beat whilst you are busy helping the economy.

next time she goes to the homeland, send a few tapes of your music with her.

This is a smart guy. I cannot soundproof the floor due to fire codes. It's not safe. Nothing will come of this because I own the condo and nothing in any paperwork I've ever signed stated they can do anything about noise besides calling the cops and getting a noise complaint. I just wanted to rant. I actually have cement "cinderblock" towers that I set the sound monitors on. They have a sub and a tweeter speaker on each of them. About 4 feet of cement should deaden the vibrations a little bit. lol. the problem is probably the floor itself. I know for a fact it's all wood (they claimed it was cement, rebar, and wood), and then they have that fake cement stuff on top so you can staple carpet to it. Like I said I'm just annoyed about the whole situation.

The condo board or HO association or building management should write this bitch a very nice letter thanking her for bringing the matter to their attention. Then go on to nicely explain that what they do in "her" country isn't what we do here. We have freedom to listen to music of our choice here, and as long as the decibel level isn't too loud and caries the tunes into adjoining neighbors apartments, there is no rule against listening to music of any type.

If she enjoys the rules and regulations of her old country, then she should consider that perhaps it would be best for her to return to that country as soon as possible. However, she cannot and will not be allowed to use the customs of another country to justify her whims and likes and dislikes here in America. Get used to the fact that we have freedom of choice in artistic endeavors or choose to go back to your "old" country and live under their repression, if that makes you happier.

In any event, she should stop bothering the board and her neighbors unless or until the should is far too loud and can be heard in her apartment clearly. Until and unless that happens, she would be well advised to leave her neighbors and the board alone and allow them to enjoy the freedom of choice that is part and parcel of American Life.

cement floors are worse than timber for noise conduction because they act like a drum, any noise anywhere on the drum surface will be heard, floorboards with insulation and carpet don't transmit as much noise. You need to move to a free standing place.
