Of course, it was my mom. I asked what she was up to and she said she was over in the city at a facility which "used" to house all the spy/intelligence agents in this area. Interesting. Just thought it was funny she would call me up and tell me that. |

They don't know about the Black World or what really goes on. To the average person, what we do/did in govt service seems like it is wilder than a Hollywood writer's opium dreams. Examples: My friend flew 11 missions into Siberia from 1959-1962 to retrieve film canisters ejected from satellites. He said he not only did not see any Russky soldiers or aircraft, he said he never saw any animals or birds. Really barren wilderness. In 1973 another buddy busted a soldier who was selling secrets to the Russkies. Bonus was he caught two Russkie agents at the meet. A few months later he ended up in a hospital in Rotterdam (WTF was he doing in Rotterdam?) with his leg turning black. At last, the Dutch docs saved his leg and determined that he was poisoned by Brown Recluse Spider venom. There are no such spiders in Europe. The Army concluded that he got hit with a dart so small he did not realize he had been shot. Payback was routine in those days. I think we have a treaty now to not kill each other's agents. I spent decades working next to classified projects. Sometimes I knew more than I was supposed to know. For example, when TWA 800 was shot down over the Atlantic, I knew immediately what missile and sensor were being tested that day. I had been briefed on them before the test went awry. It was no conspiracy, just a screw up by a stupid Program Manager in the Black World who was accountable to no one. Oh yeah, does anybody live near Downey, Kalifornia who owns a geiger counter? I know where a small nuke reactor was buried in 1949. Its under a car sales lot now. |
