Thats something I just cant understand and dont want to understand..how some can be cruel to others..
thats why I refuise to believe spiritually we are all the same.
I dont watch the news anymore..just cant bare to listen

You're certainly correct its a major bummer that the innocent Lamb of God chose to suffer for our sins, as we don't deserve it. But also keep in mind he chose gladly to do it.
Dont know about the "gladly" bit..but yes He chose to.

He withered it because it gave no fruit..
In my opinion..He showed that:
1. The fruit one produces is important..
2.He is to be Honored by all Creation
3.He had the power of withering..destroying..just be uttering a word
He could have destroyed all His accusers and murderers..just by willing it..but He didnt..He chose not to
Not because He couldnt
because He didnt want to..for various reasons..
But He wanted to make it quite clear..that He could have..
