Life got you down? Does reality suck? Forget it and just help the person next to you with their problem. It spreads quick.

I do and I try harder every single day.
I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw.

We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three.

Pay it forward.

The expression "pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of asking that a good deed be repaid by having it done for others instead

MONEY

the only reason why people dont stop and be caring is because they are in a rush.

most of the time due to something to do with money!

in Ireland it is alot less, in the US 100% about money even with regard to health etc.

Courtesy must be learned and should be respected.

the USA is the WORST

Well, this isn't an anti-US thread but you seem to be pushing an agenda.

What does anything you said have to do with taking care of your neighbor?

Stop rushing. Help the person standing next to you, and expect nothing for it except for the feeling of being good.

Kinda tough at first, but it is addicting.

applause2 This is how I live and teach my children to be. Wish more people would hop on this bandwagon! It's amazing how much kindness and respect can be shown through simple gestures.

Well as I have posted here before, my left hand dropped and thanks to all the wonderful prayers and a lot of hard work it's coming back into use. I am doing all I can to bring my health to the forefront of my life, but I just feel like I keep getting knocked down. I was in ER Monday until Tuesday. Doing ok as of today but it's always the same answers despite all tests and being poked and scanned... They cannot figure it out! Thanks for telling me I make ya smile, because you do the same for me. I was wondering where you had gone off to. hugs

Honey, I feel for you and wish you would talk to God about this. He can help you, I can't. If I could, I most definately would.

Keep doing what you do. Life around you needs you bad. just ask them. And very nice to see you again.

Be nice to each other. If it doesn't start with you. It doesn't start at all. Share without reserve, and do not expect anything in return (this is very important).

Good advice, OP. Someone once paid my bridge toll for me. Made my day. A very small thing, but I still remember it, years later, with a smile, and I try to always be kind in my own turn.

Well done, Borian~ what a great thread.

I have been so kindly taken care of in so many ways..I don't have much to give in return, but I damn sure try.

Yep, well done.hf

It's as easy as tossing a couple of pennies to the person in line in front of you if they come up short.

Will you really miss the pennies?

You should pay someone elses bridge toll, or just pay in advance for the person behind you. It's all good.

No way, not BS. This is the best way to grow -- to do something kind for someone you hate, or think you hate. Do it in a personal way.

“This is what you shall do; Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God .... re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem....” - Walt Whitman

And no better advice was ever given.

Great thread, OP.

I agree more genuine kindness should be shown in this world.

Not for the sake of reward (real or hypothetical), but for the reason that we are all here together in this world, all different... yet together in this space and time to share it.

No, that poster says doing kind stuff for for people 'like you', 'means little'. I called bullshit and I stand by it... Being kind is important no matter whose presence you are in.... And by the way, if you find yourself 'hating' people, then it's probably more important to figure out why you feel the need to 'hate' before you decide you're going to do something 'kind' to someone you 'hate'.
