Help me understand why being Gay is so hated.

I am not gay. I truly do not understand why gays are hated. The way I look at it is; Yes, being gay is a sin, but we are all sinners. I feel sorry for the gay people, because they wear their sin on their sleeve, we can hide ours. Jesus said to love my neighbor as I love myself. So, if my neighbor is gay, am I not to love them? Am I to put hate into my heart? Am I to judge their sin, while I hide my own? All this hatred towards gay people have me really confused. You are to hate the sin, not the people. Please help me understand the hatred.

It's when they cross the line into the public sphere where it starts to be a problem. Often times they demand that the entire world modify their beliefs and perceptions to fit their ideas. Like teaching kids about buttfucking. I don't think kids need to know about buttfucking.
