Ron Paul campaign: Louisiana delegates chosen against GOP rules; plan to request delegates go to Paul !

The 2012 Ron Paul presidential campaign team believes that the state delegates representing Louisiana at the upcoming
Republican National Convention were elected improperly at the Louisiana state Republican convention in June.

Mr. Paul’s campaign is challenging the election of 46 state delegates because they claim the Louisiana Republican party
violated its own state convention rules. The Republican National Committee’s Credentials committee will hear the
challenge from Mr. Paul’s campaign a week prior to the national convention in Tampa.

Mr. Paul received 6 percent of the votes in the March 24th Louisiana Republican primary election, however Ron Paul
supporters showed up in greater numbers at the state convention to vote for the remaining 30 delegates that were
up for grabs because of RNC delegate issuance rules. Out of those remaining delegates, about half were open to be filled
by the Louisiana Republican state executive committee at a later date, and Mr. Paul’s supporters were planning to
convince them to be assigned to Mr. Paul.

However, due to a rule passed by the Louisiana Republican party in 2011, the executive committee can provide
supplemental rules to the rules that were originally drafted.
