I'd like to see a followup of recipients who received blood from donors with an autoimmune disease to see if they developed the same or another autoimmune disease.

You didn't even read the study.

I think that part was perhaps the scariest thing I've read in a long time, that such has the possibility to be passed on through blood transfusions.

Don't need to. Every time one of those ridiculous 'studies' are published they are shot down by real scientists. And that's not an opinion, it's scientific fact. Not silly pseudoscience hacked together by amateurs with an agenda.

Here are two incontrovertible facts:

1. There has never been a case of autism in a non-vaccinated child.

From the American Red Cross regarding donor eligbility under the section about Cancer patients:

"Eligibility depends on the type of cancer and treatment history. If you had leukemia or lymphoma, including Hodgkin’s Disease and other cancers of the blood, you are not eligible to donate. Other types of cancer are acceptable if the cancer has been treated successfully and it has been more than 12 months since treatment was completed and there has been no cancer recurrence in this time. Lower risk in-situ cancers including squamous or basal cell cancers of the skin that have been completely removed do not require a 12 month waiting period.

Precancerous conditions of the uterine cervix do not disqualify you from donation if the abnormality has been treated successfully. You should discuss your particular situation with the health historian at the time of donation."

The reason they don't allow them to donate unless they've been succesfully treated and 12 months out is that leukemia and lymphoma cells (lymphocyte cells) can infect the donor. So why can't abnormal CD4 lymphocytes cause autoimmune disease in the recipient?

The lymphocytes in donor blood are still alive, so for that reason irradiation of blood units is often used to kill them before giving the blood to immunocompomised patients that can't fight off the invading donor lymphocytes. Its called Graft-versus-Host Disease.

So yes I can see where this is a valid possibility that an autoimmune disease could be transferred to the recipent.

Some of the chronically sickest people I know have faithfully had all their vaccinations and get the flu shot every year. Myself, I avoid western medicine and drugs and haven't been sick in a very very long time.

To go over the initial post and the article on gaiahealth, they seem to have very conveniently glossed completely over the findings and conclusions of the study.
Namely that REPEATED delivery of antigens can suppress the autoimmune response in MICE.
Looking at the results it seems that these antigens where given multiple high doses over a short period of time. Something which doesn't happen to us.
It really doesn't take a medical genius to figure out that this would inevitably be systemically negative.

Unfortunately the anti-vaccination people won't listen to cold hard facts. They have an idea in their head that vaccines are evil and they will continue to choose believing in this against all evidence to the contrary.

I believe this stems from a need for community. Anti-vaccine idiots get together, feel like they're fighting an evil enemy etc. It's little more than another religion.

I'm sorry to say it but humans are been given bigger does of antigens, they now have a 5 in 1 vaccine.

I know.
Both of my extremely healthy and non-autistic children had it.
They're well because the vaccine was given ONCE at minimal dose, not at the levels in that study and are all separate antigens, not like in the study where only the same one was given REPEATEDLY AT HIGH DOSES.

I believe they are on to something with this and this study is not the first of its kind there are countless others pointing towards the link bewtween vaccines and autoimmune diseases. it's also perhaps the reason why so many people are having egg allergies.

And have to admit a better study on this one would be a longer duration to the study and space the vaccines out to match the intake of the human vaccine schedule which is I think in the US 34? before the age of 6.

Also its worth noting in this study that the GMO mice used still showed signs of autoimmunity. So what happens in the mice in a short time will happen to humans in the long term.

They kept putting antigens into mice, deliberately to cause an autoimmune response, then said, "Oh look! An autoimmune response! How unexpected!" This is bad science.
