Scalia: Guns May be Regulated
So it begins...

Justice Antonin Scalia, one of the Supreme Court's most vocal and conservative justices, said on Sunday that the Second Amendment leaves room for U.S. legislatures to regulate guns, including menacing hand-held weapons.

"It will have to be decided in future cases," Scalia said on Fox News Sunday. But there were legal precedents from the days of the Founding Fathers that banned frightening weapons which a constitutional originalist like himself must recognize. There were also "locational limitations" on where weapons could be carried, the justice noted.

It's about time.

I'd say Scalia is inviting the case to be brought forward.

Re: Scalia: Guns May be Regulated
The second amendment was created by the Founding Fathers to have the right to protect against a tyrannical government. If the Supreme Court can regulate what kind of weapons the people can bare then the same goes for the government. In other words the government can not have an advantage of weaponry.

Once they can force you to buy something and
penalize \ tax you if you don't.

There is nothing they can't do with taxes.

Want to own a gun...$10000 tax

Want ammo for said gun...$250 per round

That's why the elitist and Hollywood types
want more gun control. They will be the only
ones who can afford to protect themselves.

It Is Not.
The States made treaty with US in the Bill of Rights.
If the Second Amendment is a States right, then so is the right of women and Blacks to vote.

What part of shall not be infringed is so hard for so many to understand?

You are a fucking idiot, and know nothing of which you speak...

The 'States' made 'treaty' with each other to form a representative government for the betterment of all the 'Independent States'...

The 'right' to vote is 'regulated' too...It seems to have escaped your gargantuan intellect that no one under 18 may vote...This by definition is a 'regulation' of a 'right'...

Scalia stated the simple facts; that the 'right' to keep and bear can not be legislated away, but can indeed be 'regulated'...

You piss and moan about the 'evil federal goobermint', and in the next breath you want them to 'protect' you...

lmao
