The History Channel's Pawn Stars is FAKE! | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 3940512 United States 07/31/2012 04:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I mean.. they are actual pawn store owners, they do actually operate the store in person, they do make deals and buy\sell items. They cannot shoot these shows 'completely live' - why? BECAUSE IT WOULD BE INEFFICIENT. Duh. TV is all fake.... By the OP standards... Just stop watching. Its for the best. My verdict: the show sounds 'real' by tv standards.. Just not by zealot standards. |

geminilion User ID: 12895036 United States 07/31/2012 04:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That show about the towing company (can't remember the name right now) was ridiculously fake. It's the one with the really big chick with the blond hair. The acting is really, really bad and there were some instances where they were clearly breaking the law. ..."The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. They should go back to their original format -- show stuff about history. Quoting: kingbirdfivezero They grossly misrepresent history. It is disgusting actually. Not Anonymous Coward User ID: 18606339 United States 08/05/2012 11:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I stopped in there about 4 months ago. 80% of the store is their souvenir stuff and about 65% of that is Chumlee stuff. Major fail...but the show is interesting. Quoting: Gerry52 I was there also and seen the same. No one from the show visible so don't know if they were there or not. 15 dollar key chains ect.. Fuck that place.. |

My verdict: the show sounds 'real' by tv standards.. Just not by zealot standards. I think you may have been suckered. Everything I've read about the show say's none of the main characters is EVER behind the counter unless they are filming. Are they "owners"? Sure, but just because Donald Trump owns Trump Towers, don't expect to see him taking out the trash. Furthermore, have you ever noticed when they just get a candid shot there are tons of people milling about but when there is somebody at the counter selling/pawning something, the store is practically empty. The fact that it's a "real business" and the actors are "real owners" isn't the point. The show is supposed to be about the drama and 99.9% of that is created. Take away all of the artistic license and it's just another dumpy pawn shop. Last Edited by ruxpin on 08/05/2012 11:05 AM I only believe half of what I read and even half of that is bullshit. |
Person445 (OP) User ID: 11438968 Canada 08/05/2012 11:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The History Channel's Pawn Stars is FAKE! by Russell Scott From a source close to the Harrison family as disclosed to Russell Scott Russell Scott: What about "Old Man" Harrison? Source: He's a total prick. A miserable bastard that has never had anything nice to say to anyone, just a complete jerk. And he's cheap! He will screw you down to nothing and never takes a deal straight-up, he always wines and moans and gives you 10% of the value...Rick is much easier to negotiate with. Russell Scott: Is Chumlee really as dumb as he plays on the show? Source: Oh totally, he's a moron and a drunk. He's just an uneducated biker that hangs around that other goof Corey...big drinkers and they never worked the store either, that started when the show started...as I said it's all staged. Russell Scott: Are the "Pawn Stars" rich? Source: I think they have started buying up people's annuity payments and buying up insurance policy payments and such, they've made a lot of money, yeah they are quite rich now, but again it all started after the show and I say good for them Con't @ [link to www.westcoasttruth.com] Follow me on Twitter: @RussellScott202 |

Person445 (OP) User ID: 11438968 Canada 09/09/2012 10:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All the shows are fake. I had a chronometer and brought it the Pawn Shop from Pawn Stars. It belonged to my late father. He died on the east coast and he was in the merchant marine. He had lots of trade magazines sent to his house. So, I saw this device and the ads and it was worth some coin. Called a place in Philly to see it when he passed and they did not want to talk to me, as they thought I was a thief. Kept in my stuff and moved across country. Saw Pawn Stars on TV and brought it down to the store one day. Met the grand dad and he did Internet research on the price. The TV people wanted me on the show. Said no thanks. The old man gave me $1000. Here is the reality. I am an east coast Jersey guy and not a whip or person with indecision. The TV show had a silly boy sell the thing to Rick, and Rick wanted to call an watch maker in as it did not work. It had some cork in the mechanism as protection. Makes some TV drama. I still have the money, but the show is fake. It is also interesting. Mc Henderson ------------------------------------------------------------ I will give you another one. Moved to Henderson in 2006. There was a segment on Pawn Stars where a man had an antique hand gun from the Revolutionary War in the US. It was a hand gun. He is a very chubby person, fat. Said he wife told him to sell it, did not want in the house, etc. Pawn Stars looked it over and called in the expert. It was a fake. A reproduction or whatever word they use when it is not real. The owner of the gun was disappointed on TV and they did a follow up segment with him in the parking lot and he said many bleep words. The man is a commercial actor. He appears in the 1-800 lawyer ads out here for the attorney in the Pink Building on Flamingo Road. As I said earlier the can stretch the truth, but I do like to watch the show.
