No.

The extaordinary warm weather the U.S has been getting is the cause.
You can't fish for Trout if they are stressed and 70+ temps can be fatal for Trout.
It sounds bad because it is Yellowstone but it is happening all over.

Well my family and I just came back two weeks ago from yellowstone, and I can contest that the weather was sunny and no hotter than maybe 80 in the park, and the rivers were nice and cold.

Trout die right around 65-70 degrees and prefer high 50's. North of here in the Ouchita mountains of Arkansas there is place where they stock them in the winter and they die every summer. All you have to do is walk down the stream bed and you can catch the barely alive ones bare handed, they are still good to eat because it happens very quickly, on the first hot sunny day. I got caught by a game warden who said I was over my limit of five (i had about 30), I told him to his face in front of two dozen people and a family i was with he was being a stupid fuck if he didn't see what was happening and go ahead and ticket me. I said Why let the crayfish and crows have them when we pay for our license and the dying fish make people not not to swim?? He decline to ticket me and said go ahead, they're going to die and rot in the water anyway. We froze over a hundred in sealed vacuum plastic and they were TERRIFIC eating. Tasted better than the ones caught when they were feeding for some reason.

Re: Parts of three rivers in Yellowstone National Park will be closed
Their information wasn't clear - are they closing the rivers to fishing but still allowing access for non-fishing enjoyment, or have they closed all access to the rivers? Seems strange either way. They could continue to let people try to catch fish - there just won't be any alive to catch. OR, they are worried about something completely unrelated to fishing!

Dare I say...I smell something fishy??

Sorry - couldn't resist.

Awesome, no sense letting them go to waste. Trout is the best.
