Its not that I do not think mankind hurts the earth, it is more that I think the earth can fix things if it gets to bad. Nature has ways to make corrections so that it goes back into balance. What is funny is people who think so highly of the human race that they believe the earth can not deal with us if needed. You could nuke every inch of the planet killing all forms of life and eventually the earth would come back with life. May not be humans, but life would come back. As far as global warming goes, blame the sun.

man made global climate change is a neat trick to try and cover a shortage of natural resources that will kill off alot of people.

A dust bowl type of scenario for the great plains is not out of the question.Thats not the end of the world.It is the end of the way of life many are used to.

Famine-water shortage-floods-severe storms-increased glaciation-decreased glaciation-increased desertification...all of these things happen with or without our help.

The problem is that now it affects us when it occurs.

12000 years ago the people near the Bering Straight probably bitched about global warming and how it affects them in being able to walk across to the N American continent.

So the only option we have-its not stopping CO2 emissions-
is to adapt.Hopefully we will develop technology that allows people to live in diverse climates with minimal disruption.
If you live in an area that will turn to a sand pit its probably not a good idea to try and get a golf course near by.

We do not need to give up our cars and lights.We SHOULD give up on the idea of cheap food and resources.

Want to save the environment?Save yourself.Grow some of your own food.Build your own water desalination system that uses solar. Live in buildings that require less energy to heat and cool.Do this now so you are not stuck later.

The cost of everything will go up dramatically -if you are not able to pay for it or are not ready for these changes you will be a victim just as much as a guy in Bangladesh who wonders why his house washes away every time it rains on his swamp.

FYI the carbon tax idea is to take more people in the Can afford side and put them into the Victim side.There are huge profits in disaster --just ask most aid organizations.
