question remains:

WHO did the killing ???

if a current FBI Agent with a young family
knows he is about to be sent to prison for
20 yrs and probably lose custody of his child,

is this not enough incentive for him
to commit suicide ???

would he spend 3 months in the woods
trying to think of a way out of this ???
and then finally make a decision
to finish the job, right where they
held a vigil for him ???
