Another rumor is that they may take a country whose currency is grossly undervalued (like, I don't know, maybe some country where a WAR has just ENDED) and revalue that currency, making it more valuable - sort of akin to what they did in Iraq after that war ended.

The government is said to have enough invested in that as-yet-unnamed country's currency to totally wipe out our national debt with the flip of a switch.

That's all I'm saying as I don't want to end up "sleeping with the fishes."

Iraqi Dinars Perhaps? I'm just sayin. I'd prefer not to be with the fishes either.

Well, they ain't got me yet, and I've been putting it out there in the Iraq thread for months. I think you're safe. Say it with me: RV! RV! RV!

Yes, the LIBOR scandal is just the tip of a very large iceberg.

I'm with you, buddy. Is it possible that nothing will happen? Sure. But if it does, it will benefit not only those who are waiting for the RV but also the whole planet.

In fact, I'm ready for my Star Trek universe. Let's just do away with money. It really is the root of all evil.

Well, it's either doom or early retirement and then doom a few years later for everyone else. I have no idea if this dinar thing is gonna happen, but if they don't do something drastic, it's gonna be war and economic catastrophe, and quick, so I've got a few dinar stashed away just in case.

The downside is break even. The upside is big money. It's like a lottery ticket that never expires, and if it does finally expire, you get your money back.

And don't you GLP bitches (not you, Rambaldi) lecture me about fiat currencies and their history. I get it, but that's the game nowadays.

Exactly. Worst case, we're out a couple hundred bucks. Big deal. Best case, early retirement.
