Exactly, they will get info anyway, whether its true info or not. I don't care what they see on there. I'm not stupid about things, but I also don't live in fear.

Only an american is this much paranoid about 'privacy'. As a programmer, I can see why the algorithm is giving you relevant results (proving that it actually works). But wtf is with all that privacy talk? Are you really worried what others think about you? Can't you for once live your life actually standing behind your words? ... ... ... Nah. This World need a changeover... This is simply stupid.

Oh balls...NONE of it means ANYTHING!!! The only reason they are doing ANYTHING right now is cuz they know that their so-called "Government" is fuckin DONE man, its OVER, they lost the war. Haven't you noticed that the celebs and vip's who have pages on FB have professionals hired to screen all info, block everyone, and make them look good all the time? They don't put personal info up there and never will. You see what their press agent or handlers' want you to see.

If you cannot afford that kind of security, then do not go within a hundred yards of FB or any of the other "Social Networking Sites" that are all too common today. The info you share "in the spirit of openness" may well come back to bite you on the ass and ruin your life someday!

Remember that once something is on the web, copies can be made of it on thousands of servers round the world, and then they get backed up on tape or disk or into "the cloud" somewhere. And twenty years from now someone wants to know what you put up on Facebook when you were twenty and there is the story about the orgy you and a bunch of drunken friends fell into. The story of the three abortions you had in your senior year of High School. The various STD's you contracted in college. and the three women you had a lesbian affair with in grad school. Get it thru your head. Some things are better left to the privacy of your own memory and do not belong on the web for the world to see. It may not matter to anyone now. But decide to run for political office or get a major promotion to an exec position, or become famous - and the world will suddenly be willing to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to find out the nastiest bits of your life and sell them to the highest bidder who will do an "expose' on your and ruin your life and cost you plenty in lost income and opportunity.

The bible says that "A wise man (or woman) keeps his/her own counsel" Think about it. It's excellent advice if followed.

Cant you make it so only your friends can see your photos though? Which would make sense if youre posting pictures of kids now that you mention that pedophile thing.

I think what he is saying is that just because you delete your page does not mean that the info linked to it will be gone.

I don't even see how what it said on Facebook could have even been relevant to your case. Some people really will just try any old shit.

Only joined myself this year. Tried to look up people I knew at school/college. No luck on any of them. Tried looking up even randoms I barely knew at school/college who I would have no intention of speaking to; nothing. LOL. And that's my long Facebook career.

I'm an IT guy and I've warned so many people against Facebook and they won't listen.

They are addicted. It's an odd addiction...but they are addicted no less. I almost feel bad for them. Good for u, just remember to not log in for 14 days or it resets the clock.

I used to be able to Google stuff about me all the time....with my name. Dumped all the social media crap about 2 years ago...and now I can't find anything about me. It's kinda nice. Sometimes the attention you want isn't the attention you get.

Perhaps off topic...but what happened that you, a criminal defense attorney, had to testify about a case you handled? Pretty rare.

That's why i have a fake profile there with a nice cartoon pic. At some point fb wanted a phone number to verify my identity. NO problem. Had them call a reception number and ID verified.
