Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 21011508 United States 07/31/2012 10:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm a mail carrier in CA. You're going to want to call the USPS Consumer Affairs office for your area. You should be able to search for that on the net. Quoting: Kick yeah, i'll probably end up talking to a CUSTOMER CARE SPECIALIST in BANGLORE. With the power outages over there, they probably won't be in a mood to help. I already scoured the usps website and its a waste of time. I need the man or woman responsible for this stinking operation. If my mail is being thrown away and not delivered, some asshole should be in front of a judge. You think thats going to happen from the CUSTOMER CARE DEPARTMENT? |

Consumer Affairs, if you've never spoken to them, is actually very helpful to the customers. If you can't find the number call 1-800-ASK-USPS, it's automated, but they do have live people to talk to as well. You can tell them you need to speak with someone in the consumer affairs dept. and they will give you the right number. As far as my office goes, if someone calls with a complaint they are far more likely to be taken seriously if they don't act like a jerk and accuse the mail carrier or whoever of tossing their mail out. Even if you suspect it. Just saying... I don't care about any of you! |

Peeps a Mail User ID: 18237036 United States 07/31/2012 11:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My rural post office was opening my mail. Not all the mail, just mail that was sensitive and private like from a law firm and others. I complained to usps and they investigated themselves and said no problem here. So there you have it. The post office I complained about investigated itself. I later on after the investigation get a computer sent to me and the box was opened. I go to the girl at the desk, who opened this. From the back out steps the post master and she says I did. I knew than who was tampering with my mail. Why was my mail being opened and looked at by the postmaster. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 18349246 United States 07/31/2012 11:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Believe me, it doesn't do any good. I have found my mail in the yard, in bushes. I have had a letter put in my mailbox for someone across town. When I went there to complain, I was told they would take care of it. They took the mailman offender off the route a few days, then put him right back on. I have went in person 3 times, because they are not in the phone book. I mean, we have our house number over our garage, and on the mailbox by the door. How hard is it to get a letter to the right house? |

She said they had received numerous complaints since the temps had begun but that the local postmaster couldn't do anything about it since it was a national decision. Apparently the POST OFFICE is bleeding money and they decided to take it out on the customers by not replacing retired workers with full time jobs. The postmaster denied there was a problem. I found this out when i got a po box in Dolan Springs, AZ. They are the nastiest postal workers ever! The woman who runs it acts like she owns the mail. When I complained to the supervisor at the Kingman, AZ Post Office, he said that the Dolan Springs Post Office is not owned by the USPS but by the crazy woman who runs it. He then suggested I take a PO Box elsewhere since there is really nothing anyone can do. |
