i don't have any mental conditions that i know of lol but every once in a while when i'm getting ready for sleep, i'll hear random voices. It just sounds like regular conversations. What i usually hear are family members calling my name or just people talking. It's weird as hell but pretty interestin. Anyone ever experiance this?

Interesting.. never thought someone would make a thread of this. I have the same issue, I'll start to dose off a little and hear voices but I can never clearly understand it

Isn't it the weirdest thing. I'm not sure if i'm completly asleep when it happens or or right on the edge of being asleep. But i do know that it's in my head because i live alone..

Thank goodness I'm not the only one, and yay! Not Crazy!

I used to hear random voices as well. I haven't for a while now though.

Yeah, really weird, like you're eavesdropping on snippets of a conversation you can't quite hear.

Thats why I usauly avoid crowds of people, i've had times that so many frequencies of human thought popped up that i felt I went nuts, after a bit of training (dont ask me how) I could block most of it out, still dont like crowds tho

Re: anyone ever hear voices in their head just before falling asleep?
This is perfectly normal and will actually increase with meditation and hypnogigic state works. Pay attention to the voices and they will reveal information to you.

During meditation i hear all sorts of things. Conversations to children singing. Then i keep my focus and cross over to join them in the astral realm.

If you are hearing these voices then you have abilities that most people don't use them to your advantage.

Re: anyone ever hear voices in their head just before falling asleep?
Yeah I totally do too!

It used to freak me out as I thought I was going mad, then I just decided that it must be a strange way that my thoughts and processes shut down before I fell asleep.

I've noticed it happens more if I'm not that tired when I go to bed, but still try to go to sleep as I know it's late and I should be asleep! ;)

I generally hear my mum or my brother talking, and it's just random snippets of conversation rather than full-on dialogue. It also seems to be quite jumbled too, and doesn't fully make sense. I know it's not my mum and my bro because I live with my wife in Dubai and they're back in the UK!

Now I know that other people get the same thing (phew, I'm not mad! Haha), I will try to listen more intently and see if I can make something of it...

So happy I'm not alone with this! banana2

Yes, although, they are usually calling my name, but, it is always a voice I recognise.

I have also been on the verge of falling to sleep and it feels like someone has poked me and I wake up startled.

Yep. Hypnagogic hallucinations (before sleeping) or Hypnopompic hallucinations (before waking up).

BTW, it's $10,000 for the info.

YES! It's usually if I've had a late night and lay down in the early hours of the morning. Right when I settle, I hear what sounds like some AM radio convo going on. I can hear their breaks in sentences and the voice tones but cannot make out the words. When I sit up to listen harder, it goes away.

Re: anyone ever hear voices in their head just before falling asleep?
I've had a few of those, all of them this year:

- Hearing a sucking sound in the top of my head (like that of a vacuum cleaner).
- Hearing "VUURP!!!" after waking up, the intentionality was like that of a "oops!".
- Hearing "BOO!" when trying to sleep (2 times).
- Hearing my own voice yawning 2 seconds after waking up.

I can handle things like that but this is what gets on my nerves.

Have you ever woke up and felt thirsty and thought to yourself 'I'm going to go get a drink' then wake up again to take a sip only to find there is no drink where you left it and you actually realise that you dreamt that you had gotten a drink.

I have had that one a few times.

In a dream I could even speak telepathically via some sort of radio channel, with actual voice sound inside the head.

I'd say that the ability to do so is there (that's why hypnagogic / hypnopompic hallucinations occur) however it's somehow kept supressed.

I don't think so. The body "feels there" pulling in all the time.

If dreams were OBEs you'd be able to see actual things or bring useful information, but it's almost always chaotic random stuff.
