Wow still hammering on this thread ! And who mentioned doom ? The only doom was for OP's shade loving plants !!!!! LOL I think we are just asking questions and accepting this as part of the natural world. Now if someone would start with HARRP is causing this I could understand the brow beating. But hey maybe this is why they started chemtrailing in the first place. To hide the fact that the sun has soooo completely moved. Now you have fun with that.

From the time I was a young child until now I have been blessed to live in the same place. I have watched the sun set 1000's of times. As of the last few years the sun has been rising and setting in some very odd places. I just walked outside and made a crude plot of where I remember the sun setting as a child and a plot of where it sets now.

The results of my little experiment shows a variant of roughly 30° to the north.

This became a topic of discussion at a recent family gathering. A cousin of mine said that she had noticed the sun was now shining through a new window in her house forcing her to buy a drape for a window that never required one.

Interestingly, a somewhat extensive search has found that this question appears only on conspiracy and/or religious/rapture-type sites. Nothing on NASA or Spaceweather or any "legit" website. So....Nobody has asked this question before? I doubt that. It has been asked several times by those on the 'fringe' but yet they would have you believe this question would never be posed to actual credentialed astronomers?

Re: Have You Noticed The Sun Has "Moved"? Post Your Evidence / Stories Here!
I went through this whole post because like the woman who started it I too feel like the Sun's a miss shall we say. Just a feeling. The one thing that struck me was the way in which certain people really dug in on this. Its one thing to express an opionion but another to attack like sharks, like a gang of sharks the people just making an observation and asking for some input. I have been coming to this site for a long time and its not for your express use no matter how passionate you are about your astronomy trade. I was appaulled at how one of you even threw in to the mix the suicide card and saving people from themselves. This site was intended in my opionion for people to suggest and to make observations and even conspiracy's. Its meant to be fun and enjoyable. I think a few of you have lost site of that and maybe you should take a break from this place for a while. I think you've gotten way to controlling of the whole board and of the people using it. People don't have to prove anything to me, you or the rest of us. I have noticed this in other threads as well along the same topics. I certainly didn't come here to argue with anyone. I came here for a break and to be entertained. To bounce some idea's around.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21242226

I have also noticed the sun in a window where its never been in any season. I have also noticed the behavior as it pertains to the above statement. It seems they are back at it again. Whats wrong with an observation. Isn't that hoe SCIENCE Started. The Crystal comment was really FUNNY.hf

The OP and others claim to be comparing a currently observed sunrise or set with some from the past, exactly as these pictures do. The photographic documentation simply clashes with the memories of those claiming the anamolies.

Yeah.. I knew. So did you.

Now explain why people would say the sun hits in places in their yards where it used to be shaded..?
Why would they randomly come up with that..?
I know this to be completely true because I've seen it with my own eyes..

Don't piss on my shoe and then try to tell me it's raining.
The wobble has increased.

~

[link to news.nationalgeographic.com]

[snip]
The Japan quake shifted what's called Earth's figure axis, an imaginary line around which the world's mass is balanced, about 33 feet (10 meters) from the north-south axis.
Earth naturally wobbles slightly as it spins, because shifting surface mass such as melting glaciers and moving ocean currents can throw the planet off balance.

Similar changes to Earth's mass distribution were calculated from GPS data obtained during the 2004 Sumatra earthquake and the 2010 Chile earthquake. In the case of Sumatra, the change in the length of the day was larger: 6.8 microseconds.

But for the Japan earthquake, the change in Earth's wobble was more than twice as large as those calculated for the 2004 and 2010 events.

That's exciting, Gross said, because the wobble is large enough that scientists might actually be able to measure it, not just calculate it, by looking for small changes to Earth's tilt.

~

Scientists might actually be able to measure it..?

But, but, but.. the astro-tards say.. with certainty.. that nothing is different... because of their measurements..
Hmm..

[link to climatecrocks.com]

[snip]

“But if you reconstruct temperatures on a global scale – and not just examine Antarctic temperatures – it becomes apparent that the CO2 change slightly preceded much of the global warming, and this means the global greenhouse effect had an important role in driving up global temperatures and bringing the planet out of the last Ice Age.”

The theory is that the Earth’s natural wobble affected the amount of sunlight striking the northern hemisphere, melting ice sheets that covered Canada and Europe. Fresh water flowed into the Atlantic Ocean, where it formed a lid over the sinking end of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation.

This put an end to the movement of warm water up from the tropics which had delivered heat to the northern latitudes.

~

Let's examine that theory..
Does that not sound exactly like what just happened to the Greenland ice sheet.. although it was a minor surface melt?
Hmm..?

[link to climatecrocks.com]

[snip]

Wobbling world

Tracking this orientation is complicated by the fact that the Earth wobbles about its axis. Both the Chandler and the annual wobble are small irregularities in the position of the Earth's geographic poles and hence a shift in its rotational axis. The annual wobble is due to a small change in tilt as a result of the gravitational attraction due to the slight ellipticity of the Earth's orbit. The Chandler wobble is a 435 day oscillation of the Earth's axis attributed to factors such as ocean floor pressure variation and wind. Since the Chandler signal is particularly unpredictable, it is necessary to measure and keep track of it.

~

But, but.. the astro-tards measured and found no deviations..
Now.. why would someone attempt to bullshit a dumb 'ole country boy like me..?

[link to wattsupwiththat.com]
“We can calculate changes in the Earth’s axis and rotation that go back 50 million years,” Clark said. “These are caused primarily by the gravitational influences of the larger planets, such as Jupiter and Saturn, which pull and tug on the Earth in slightly different ways over periods of thousands of years.”

That, in turn, can change the Earth’s axis – the way it tilts towards the sun – about two degrees over long periods of time, which changes the way sunlight strikes the planet.
And those small shifts in solar radiation were all it took to cause multiple ice ages during about the past 2.5 million years on Earth, which reach their extremes every 100,000 years or so.

~

And also illustrates.. why people are seeing the sun hit in formerly shaded areas..?

But.. the astro-turds sound so sincere when they say they measured it and nothing is different...

I am sooo confused..

Ce n'est pas possible.scratch
