The WARREN act clearly states a 60 day notice is to be sent out, but because it would arrive just days before the election this creepy bunch of thugs want it delayed until after. Contractors are PRIVATE and usually perform a specialized service that public personnel cannot do, or are not set up to accomplish.

I live in an area that is largely NASA and defense and so I know fully what you mean. Restaurants, dry cleaners, gas stations and all the things that go into support for people will be effected as the dominos fall.

Add in the coal industry that Obama has vowed to bankrupt (his words, not mine) and next year would be one major disaster.

Saying otherwise doesn't make it so. And yes, this is currently the law of the land. Should something be worked out later to makes these cuts less draconian, that would be a good thing. But as of right now, it certainly is the law of the land.
