Let's not be confused people. Guns are not just for hunting, they are for protecting citizens from unrestrained exercise of power and despotic abuse of authority. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. In supreme court cases District of Columbia v. Heller(2008) and McDonald v. Chicago (2010), under which the Second Amendment protects the right to keep and bear arms much as the First Amendment protects the right to free speech. Its a tool, I believe every High Schooler should have some basic firearms training. It will give them experience in respect. Most younger Americans have no experienced training in firearms. Guns seem to be some HOLLYWOOD fantasy trip to them, When in all respect, they know nothing of respect, to anything....themselves, people, society, I am sure the list goes on... So modern young Americans have little to no experience in weapons handling, this just goes to show the true ignorance, lack of maturity, and respect that this younger generation so savagely act out...Truely a dengenerating society is coming

The second amendment has nothing to do with hunting or sports of any kind. It wasn' writen so people could have a hobbie. It was writen so that good guys could defend themselves from bad guys plain and simple.

Try using a bolt action rifle or 5 shot revolver to defend yourself against a gang banger with a full auto gun who doesn't give a rats ass about any law and you will be outgunned and dead in short order unless the thug is so high on drugs that he couldn't hit the broad side of a crack house.
