Even though it sounds like a chain email I've heard before, the words are absolutely true whether they were ever spoken at a TN football game or not.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

Jesus said we would be persecuted for speaking the Gospel and following Him. Persecution means Christians are doing it right.

How do you identify "real" christians?

They (and their millions of followers) would say they're the real deal I think.

Re: Christianity is now the target of persecution...At a Tennessee Football Game---not a joke.
honestly the whole thing is stupid
not because schools haven't become centers of ignorance and depravity

but because christians choose to send their kids there
then complain about it
what they should be complaining about is the fact that they haven't come together and created their own schooling system
with all the money the big churches take
they can certainly afford to educate the children
they choose not to do so
there are many christian schools but they are often too expensive for many christians to use
catholics are the worst really
don't use birth control, have 8 kids, the pope wearing his gold threaded robes but catholic parents can't afford catholic schools
they have all kinds of money to lobby for morality laws
but none to educate the children so they won't have to worry about their kids being influenced by those they consider to be immoral?
does that make any sense?

i'm not christian but if they really wanted to change the public school system
all they would have to do is pull their kids out of it at the same time
the funding would be slashed
and real reform of education would become a priority if for no other reason the loss of funds that would result from a mass exodus of a large number of people
and the administrators would worry less about giving unto "cesar" (give me a break, that's the biggest load of mindless be a slave bs one can imagine) and more about the kind of education parents want for their kids

if that principal is real and really said that
then he believes it's more important to give to cesar then properly educate children
and that's pathetic

You are right. Bad choice of words on my part. I retract my "real Christian" comment. If they have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior then they are Christians. However, based upon what I have read about them I believe them to be false teachers. They will have to give an account to God one day.

There is real persecution going on in the world. We are lucky here in the US. Google "Voice of the Martyrs" and you can see how Christians are persecuted around the world.

Exactly!

They can dish it out but not take it. Christianity has harassed, imprisoned and killed under their god. Now, they cry when the tables have turned. I don't support anyone being harassed or even killed for what they believe in but our past is our future and people seem to fail at learning what the true past was and what they need to do to change it so their future doesn't bite them in the backside.

It's only because Christianity is so ridiculous if you were ever able to look at it objectively - which you can't as you are in the grips of its mind control. It's like saying retards are being persacuted.

I thank you for proving the Bible true.

1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1 Corinthians 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
1 Corinthians 1:22 For the jewish people require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1 Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the jewish people a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1 Corinthians 1:24 But unto them which are called, both jewish people and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
1 Corinthians 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1 Corinthians 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

1 Corinthians 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
1 Corinthians 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

I'm not at all surprised you think it's foolishness it was to me too when I was an atheist.

The "recent" decision of the Supreme Court was in 1967 you ignorant hay-seed...it's not an attack on religion...it is a ruling that denies the state the power to promote religion; thus, no taxpayer created public building can be used to promote religion (myth) ... public prayer is promoting religion (myth, fantasy's, fiction, stories, fables)...

the downside is that has extended to the point where they don't even learn about religions

so, most of the world is religious and we just pretend they aren't
and the kids spend their lives sheltered within their own religions (save the minority who do learn about others for whatever reason) then become ignorant adults

and we wonder why the population is ignorant about other cultures and religions

I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CAN SEE THE PROBLEM, BUT OUR SOCIETY CANNOT.

Tennessee Football

This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High School , Kingston , Tennessee by school Principal, Jody McLeod

"It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country."

Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate life style," and if someone is offended, that's OK.

I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex." If someone is offended, that's OK.

I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable" Means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem...

I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology.."

I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment.."

However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated.

This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical.
Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.

Nevertheless , as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical. I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression.

For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time.

" However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM,in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so.. As far as I know, that's not against the law--yet."

Also there is a difference between Prayer (which in the Biblical New Testament scene is to be in private or in the private houses and not public) and Praise, and even moreso where Preaching is concerned. Preaching is supposed to be Public. Preach the Resurrection, in season out of season. At least that is the message of the New Testament if one bothers to read it.

Persecution of Christians is predicted and even prophesied in the New Testament. In the world you will have tribulation... period.

But I do agree, every religious one, even non-religious ones, even those that deny there are any Power That Be, all get stoned, eh, I mean, persecuted from one time or another.

The fool says in his heart, "There are no Powers That Be."
