For decades the APA has designated being gay as an Ego-Syntonic Paraphillia, a personality disorder that causes the person to be convinced that there is no problem and that their choices are crucial to their sense of self. Homosexuality is a mental dissorder and ego disorder that correlates with other mental perversions such as pedophiliism. Political pressure recently has caused the APA to remove the diagnosis from their medical books but most psychiatrists refused to participate in having it removed.
