Unfortunately the sun is getting worse, and lighter skinned people are "the canaries in the coalmine". As it continues getting worse all life will suffer, even black skinned people. Gorillas have several times the melanin of a black person, but they will still suffer as well. Dark pigment melanin gives some protection from the sun but there are limts to what it can block out.

Seems that if the amniotic fluid of an african mother is extremely acid you get the red albinos (orange curly hair, freckles, Irish?) and if it is extremely alkaline (like in most asians, but not in blacks) you get the clear white albinos (ashy light straight hair, never freckles, Swedish? A-).
