California earthquake swarm
You can see magnitude 2s everywhere along the state. Clustered in northernmost California, Southernmost California, pockets of Earthquakes near the border with Nevada and Mexico.

Re: California earthquake swarm
I think the most correlated events are geomagnetic storms wiith earthquakes. Check spaceweather.com for a note about recent geomagnetic storms. So far we have not had a big enough storm to trigger an earthquake. In case you doubt this, check the USGS site for a geomagnetic map that corresponds very well with the fault lines. Why would they place such a map in the earthquakes hazards section?

Re: California earthquake swarm
Possible geomagnetic storm today and Monday. Guess what? 4.4 earthquake near Parkfield, the key and lock to San Andreas fault. Possible large movement of fault coming soon. Hmmm... What if the Liberty Island earthquake was off by 3 years as forecast by the Bible code. September 1, 2012 - possible catastrophe?

Re: California earthquake swarm
The doughnut pattern has appeared again. Southern California was first. Northern California is next. Bay Area near Berkeley is last. Next window is August 27 and 28 when a geomagnetic storm is expected. In case you doubt that geomagnetic storms cause earthquakes, look at the USGS site for geomagnetic maps caused by the faults under pressure.

The earthquake swarm has triggered faults close to California and Nevada border. Possible earthquake activity in Northern California and then Soutern California. No geomagnetic storms so far.

Earthquake activity successfully forecast for Northern California. Magnitude 3s are significant. Sorry no California Armageddon here. Thank goodness for the people of Brawley that geomagnetic activity is currently waning.

Re: California earthquake swarm
in order for it to be a swarm - the quakes need be geographically localized - occurring in the same area. not "everywhere in the state".

Re: California earthquake swarm
Yes, I guess you can not call it a swarm if each is not bigger than 2s. Zones of interest:

Southern California - yeah, I guess that the city did NOT feel a swarm. Never mind the Beverly Hills or Yorba Linda earthquakes.
Parkfield - yeah, I guess you should not consider that is an important section of San Andreas. Yes... There is currently a swarm going on in Parkfield that no one is talking about
Northern California/Nevada border - yes, I guess the pair of earthquakes and the many little ones in this region does not constitute a swarm
Northern California/Oregon border - yes, I guess you can ignore this region even though it is affected by the San Andreas and the Cascadia subduction zone
Northern California/Bay Area - not a single peep except for Cloverdale

What you call scattered, I amend your definition of swarm to be localized in a specific fault region. In which case, my observations are not only true, but accurate.

Theory is true if consistently reproducible as this was shown multiple times. This is the step by step progression so far:

Geomagnetic storm K value of 3 or more
Earthquake in Southern California/Mexico region
Earthquake in either Parkfield and/or Northern California/Nevada border
Earthquake in Northern California/Bay Area or Northern California/Oregon border

Ignorance is why people considered the earth flat and why people believed everything revolved around us for several centuries.

Re: California earthquake swarm
With the significant geomagnetic storms (Planetary K-index of 6!) due to CME and now a M class flare, I tend to agree with quake prediction website. A very large probability for significant event. Note the 7.6 earthquake in Costa Rica from the geomagnetic storm this past Monday. What is next? This thread has come full circle with many events all over California.

With the geomagnetic storm still going, more possible earthquakes, but we have had two earthquakes in southern California. Parkfield and California/Nevada border is next.

Another successfully predicted earthquake near Parkfield. With such a large scale earthquake, both Southern California and San Francisco Bay Area have increased probability of earthquakes.

Re: California earthquake swarm
We had a small geomagnetic storm yesterday. Northern California was affected with multiple earthquakes. Due to doughnut hole theory, possible earthquake activity in the San Francisco Bay Area. Although, the doughnut appears to be getting bigger in relative distance from the center.

Re: California earthquake swarm
Earth's geomagnetic field has been buffeted by three coronal holes. Again, Southern California has earthquakes. Central California and Sierra Nevada appear to also have swarms.
