Less than 45% of the population is actually working. That is the lowest in 30 years.

In 1980 women's employment rate was 75% of men's. Today the female employment rate is 89% of the male employment rate so there should be 7% more people working (more or less).

In 1950 less than 45% of working age women worked.

so that's the official Unemployment what is it really? those numbers dont include illegal aliens or people that are not identifying themselves as looking for work because of gang affiliations or just tired of working for the man and not getting ahead in life.

how much of that population are children, disabled or seniors citizens?

Now we are getting , new lower paying jobs are norm.
Replacing high paying jobs with low ones are a no win situation.

So ex-employees collecting FUTA & SUTA is 8.3% of work force, while U-6 is reported 15% .... interestingly during 1930's depression era unemployment was reportedly 25% at the apex... there was no fed or state unemployment benefits no SSI disability or retirement benefits .IOW the unemployment rate included everyone not working.... regardless of age or physical condition.

I don't consider myself an "entrepreneur". A true entrepreneur is someone pursuing a dream and someone who works hard to attain their dream and makes sacrifices in order to pursue success. I am not pursuing my entrepreneurial dreams and the only sacrifices I've made are to do what I'm doing now is that I left 25 years of hard work and a daily 2-3 hours of stop-and-go, bumper-to-bumper DFW traffic behind and now I have a comfortable home office and my commute is about 15 feet from my bed and I show up to work in my boxer shorts.

And I have much more money than I had as a journeyman tradesman foreman working on big construction projects in far-flung places.

Well you heard wrong as none of the various measurements include UI benefits. U6 can be thought of as the Universe of unemployment with the other metrics being subsets---it includes part-time workers who wish to work full-time and marginally attached workers. While the U6 rate did increase 0.1% from last month to 15.%, that increase is not statistically significant.

The increase to 8.3% is not a big deal due to the fact that it lies in the expected interval.

No we are not in either of those situations. No one is saying that you cannot refer to our current economic condition with those terms, but by using those terms you show just how ignorant you are to economic matters.

Unemployment Insurance status, or as you referred to as "collecting unemployment checks," has no effect on the reported unemployment rate. Relying on UI would not allow the BLS to see the larger picture as a larger number of individuals would be excluded from the sample---as it is the current sample is 60k which is much greater than is required by the CLT.
