how do you heal nearsightedness?
I have a pretty severe condition of nearsightedness. I require pretty thick lenses. How the heck do I heal this :).

Orlin Sorensen, founder of Rebuild Your Vision and author of the best-selling program, wore corrective lenses for years beginning in his teens. Through the use of vision training, he improved his vision from 20/85 to 20/20 and was able to pass the visual acuity test given to U.S. Navy fighter pilots. Men's Health declared this one of the "Greatest Comebacks of All Time," and since then Orlin has dedicated himself to sharing the knowledge which has helped thousands of people improve their vision naturally.

I just don't like the fact that I need to buy expensive pairs of lenses everytime I make some improvements. Besides that how do I convince the doc that I'm doing a "natural healing program to correct my nearsightedness"?

By using your eyes without glasses. By trying to focus on objects far away.

Retrain your eyes/brain to work differently.

Lens replacement is the only way I know.
My wife had it so bad she couldn't read unless it was 2 inches away.
After a simple lens replacement, she loves it and has perfect vision.

Yea see, I thought that would only end up straining the eyes even more.

Maybe it wouldn't?

Hm.

Of course it would also require a lifestyle to minimize eye strain. IE, no more reading for too long before eye-strain develops, eye exercises, etc.

Laser surgery. Cost me $1300. OR $600 for a yearly supply of contacts and a visit. That was an easy decision for me personally.

Seriously though.. people need to incorporate eye exercises into physical culture. This is neglected SO MUCH.

I'd rather go the more natural way. I hear Laser surgery is a permanent change, and it can get much worse later on. Worse than what you had before. Then you can't do anything about it when you're older.

WTF how why is it so hard to not incorporate eye exercises into the current establishment of Western medicine? Why not, Eye Vision rehab just like there is physical rehab programs?

I made my own pair of pinhole glasses out of old sunglasses with the lens removed and replaced with lenses made from black construction paper poked with...well...pinholes. From a distance, it just looks like I have sunglasses on but I wear them as often as I can and it has improved my vision.

If you can't afford the eye exercise program or a set of the real pinhole glasses that run about $40.00, the homemade version work just as well!

I had 20/400. I could see at 20ft what I should've seen at 400. Super thick lens. Miserable. Hubby talked me into LASIK in 2006. Love it. Would do it again. By the way, it does NOT fix the old-age need for the "cheaters" or cheap reading glasses. I only use them for small print and usually cost $5 or so.

HM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea. TCM uses mulberry fruit and leaves to treat eyesight problems!

Additionally they nourish/affect kidney organ system.

WTF, good find.

Re: how do you heal nearsightedness?
There is one herbal concoction for the eyes that my late Aunt May taught me to make. As there was a mulberry tree growing outside her house, she'd pluck the leaves, dry them and then use them later to make a herbal drink. Actually the leaves can also be boiled when there are taken fresh from the tree. Mulberry is useful for the persons who use their eyes a lot during work. Regular consumption of the mulberry fruit or leaves strengthens eyesight.

One needs to boil them for about half an hour. Aunt May told me to add another Chinese herb "kei chi" when boiling the concoction. The "kei chi" is also supposed to be good for the eyesight.
Actually, the mulberry plant can be easily grown. As a matter there are two such plants in my school herb garden. Besides the leaves, the fruits can be eaten or made into juice.

shuangxingfu.blogspot.com/2011/01/benefits-of-mulberry-leaves.html

This is just the leaves though. The fruit is also good. I wonder , how to make mulberry sprouts of the seeds and if they're edible... maybe the roots or simply take other parks of the tree.

mmmhmmm. Mulberries are like my favorite dry fruit besides dates and figs.

lol. Only because we became civilized and started helping out those with poor eyesight. Originally of course it is caused by too much eyestrain and poor health.

In TCM the eyes are connected to the livers. I'm sure the kidneys have a part to play in this as well.

The eyes need good blood, good flexibility (strength in the muscles like the strength of the tree's wood, strong blood like the green color of the leaves and growth of the fruit, and flower etc), and good lubrication (water element, kidneys, stability, groundedness to cool excess fire)

I had laser treatment years ago, when it first went commercial. I think it was a good decision but it has a downside (at least the way they did it then has). I now have pretty bad night vision which makes driving at night very difficult as bright lights against a dark background appear as about a dozen or more of the little fockers, i.e. tail tihts on cars in front or cats eyes on the road. If I'm driving on a 3-lane highway with highly reflective lane markings I can see about twice as many lanes.

I remember reading about an alternative type of surgery where they slip small arcs of plastic inside your eye to reshape/correct your vision. Good thing about this is it doesn't involve any surgery to your pupil AND it's reversible: they can just remove them again and your eye goes back to how it was. I forget the name of this treatment but it's worth checking out.

Whoever said you need to even tell your doctor or take his permission? Are you thick in the head? Docs make money on your suffering. If you are not sick and dont need their help, they would have no job.

Anyway, if you stick with the above exercise you will see improvement. Do the exercises once, twice, thrice a day. Do it atleast for a month and see for yourself. If you see the improvement, dont go out and buy expensive contacts. Keep doing the exercises so in a few months you dont need to buy the at all.

Good luck!

Yes exactly OP - you get the gist of it :-)

My brother's exgirlfriend had bad vision - used glasses sometimes...would squint when talking to you...and my brother always said 'it's in her mind'....at the time i thought - how can that manifest as bad vision?

Interestingly, when they split up...she moved on...was obviously happier and looked forward to her new future...when i saw her afterwards i was amazed at how different her demeanour was and her squinting completely disappeared.

Search for those hidden fears...let them go (literally tell your fears that - say it!) and take steps towards full wellness.

Huge luck to you :-)
