They have so distorted the truth that the citizens are no longer capable of self-governance....which was the whole intent of the Republic when it was founded. The wars, the unnecessary killing, the inability to accept the rights of others, the blind ambition to WIN at any cost...even your soul. The tyranny has crept its way downward and managed to degrade all that America was supposed to stand for....FREEDOM. It is degrading at the individual level now as people seem unable to love their neighbors regardless of their color or nationality. This diversity could have been our strength and now it is our weakness. I hear people say that multiculturalism has failed. This is a lie. What has failed is our willingness to embrace other cultures, to see the good within them and to show them the good within ours. I am still proud to be part of the American culture. I accept the other cultures that have come here and understand that by our nations creed we are obliged to integrate them into our own. We seem to have lost the idea of the "melting pot" and would now prefer to remain in separate pots of analogous metals totally resistant to combine with each other.
