Here in S Florida it is quite common for temperatures to rise at night time.

My point is its happening in oklahoma AND Kansas so far and oklahoma reported the heat surger right BEFORE the fire !and the heat surge cud be a precursor to FIRE for other places as oklahoma reported this about 12 hrs before fire broke out!
So im asking other states if there an uptrend in this heat surge since Half of America is in a drought state of emergency!!!!
And WARNING it may happen elsewhere!!

what's the meteorological term for this? I was just telling my mother about this tonight before reading this. Tonight, around 9:30 here in Northern NYS, we had dropped to 75 then I saw it raise to 77 then to 80 in a matter of minutes. Saw this on local TV website and weatherbug and weather.com.

Just keep reminding yourselves that there is no such thing as global warming and that you hate Al Gore's guts.

so I'd heard about this phenomenon and was afraid we were going to keep going up. Eventually around midnight, it went back down to 75, but to see temps rise after dark - and suddenly - very very rare indeed.

your sarcasm is duly noted, but since this has been proven wrong again and again and again, you honestly sound stupid.

Central Texas, 100 today, projected high of 97 tomorrow, has been hovering around 100 for a while now (cooler than normal).

Also wanted to add that I grew up in Phoenix, AZ and am quite used to high temps, but temps peaked late in the afternoon, and by sundown were definitely dropping. There is nothing normal about temps rising in the night time. Not normal at all.

well i live in wichita and just checked the radar on ksn.com it looks very strange when you out towards dodge and garden city. i have never seen it like before and we see a lot here. wish i could save a still of the radar. circle within circle within circle. i know what ground clutter is and that is not ground clutter lol.

I'm near Kansas city, Kansas. Their was a high of 97 it's now 85 and dropping, not 102 that thread is over a year old. And the guy that probably followed the link from your thread said he didn't post it

thats kind of weird. in that article it said that this hasnt happened for a long time. umm, it just happened last year. google it. plus i live in wichita and i remember when it happened.

Here in NC, my grass has never been greener this time of year.

weather took a turn on the strange today in south central louisiana, one min it was 92c a quick rain storm passed through and the temp dropped to 80... as soon as it passed (10mins total) it shot back upto 94c

one min I was really enjoying the cooler temps the next I could hardly breath outside the humidity shot right up.

not sure if this the norm when a quick downpour comes as I am from the uk, but it sure felt a tad bit strange with it happening so quickly.

I dont think its magma, but maybe the large holes in our atmosphere is something to think about. I read fish near Australia are gettin skin cancer from the largest such hole over head.
