Other thing if you wish to fight back is to have these things documented discreetly and collect evidence - videos, pictures, places, times and names.

I was walking past a park when this police van pulled up alongside me. The officer stuck his head out of the window and told me to smile. I reply that I don't have to if I don't want to . What does it matter how they "feel"? They took a job knowing it wouldn't be rainbows and sunshine. If you "feel" unhappy at home or your job, do you feel entitled to abuse others? If soldiers "feel" stressed by their jobs, do we excuse poor behavior by saying " follow them around and see how they feel"? I bet politicians "feel" bad if it looks like they may lose their office...so we should just excuse corruption...since they "feel" threatened or something.
