The raging sun is so intense it has baked the moon's surface rock into one big glass mirror rock | |

I live in Texas and sit out every night after sundown when it has cooled off a bit. On nights when the moon is full and after it rises to a point near overhead, the temp begins to go up again. It eventually colls again whe it drops low in the western sky. |

I noticed the same thing when the moon was rising, but I never made the connection, so thanks again. I just thought it was lack of wind during some points. |

The moon never reaches these tempatures due to the lack of sufficient sunlight and a thick atmosphere. |

I've heard that explanation given before, but never quite understood it. Auditory levels fail, and if the same happens with our eyes, shouldn't the world be getting dimmer? My eyes have always been good. If anything, the sun should've been brighter when I was younger. |

Its will reflect high intensity light from teh Sun and cook us like beasts of a spit. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1030203 Thanks, sounds good to me. There are less craters on the side that always face us, so the moon's increased brightness from either its own innate reflectiveness or else from the sheer mad as hell sun has to have a reason. I suspect both. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1120577 I doubt we've been to the moon but thats not to say we dont know of its composition. and yeah we can get glass on earth naturally from lightning. what's the process on the moon? cant imagine moon lightning. has to be the sun mostly correct? |

All these posts btw from everybody are not insignificant, but they stand as record for those who know the truth. I know the rainfall here is also abnormal. Lightning storms during the morning for instance. |

The temperature on impact creates the beads. Hence all the craters. The moon is way to cold to cook that way. Although if the Sun is shineing brighter it would of course cause the moon to reflect harder. 60 watt. 100 watt. and so on. The moons temperature would have to go up a few thousand degrees to cook. |

The closer you get to the sun doesn't mean it gets hotter and you answered your own question. It has no atmosphere therefore it cannot trap heat. Go get a mirror. Reflect a 60 watt bulb. How bright is it? Now change the bulb for a 100 watt. How bright is it? |

There even closer. What is the moon made of if its not matter? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19846210 Aren't the satellites in earth's orbit below the earth's magnetosphere? Yes the moon is matter, derp. What's you're point? It has only a thin atmosphere, so it cooks you in daylight there. |
