The funny thing is that many Ron Paul supporters do not even know who the Libertarian candidate is ! Only three parties have candidates running in all 50 states. So if you want to make an effective protest vote against the Rep/Dems and RomBama, then there is an obvious "best way" to communicate that. This video goes back several months, but most of the poinst are still highly relevant: Getting to know Gary Johnston... Here's a longer interview Last Edited by Geologic on 08/05/2012 01:26 AM |

Gray for Vice President LAS VEGAS – The Libertarian Party on Saturday nominated Judge James P. Gray of California for Vice President of the United States, giving him a chance to take his agenda of downsizing the federal government and marijuana decriminalization to Washington. He received 357 votes from the 600 delegates of the National Libertarian Convention held at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, Nev. For example, if you live in California, it doesn't matter if you vote for Romney, All of California's electoral votes are going for Obama. Same thing in Texas. All of Texas' electoral votes are going for Romney, regardless of who you vote for. Send a message and vote for a third party. If you're a libtard, you can vote for the green party, if you're a conservitard, vote libertarian. Not intended to be a factual statement. |

Sometimes a fish cannot see the water it is swimming in. I highly recommend spending some time outside the US, if you want to gain a clearer perspective of the country. You will get a very different newsflow, and also learn that there are other approaches to things like: politics, economic regulation, military activities, healthcare, etc. Is the US the greatest country on the Planet? Here's one view on that: |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1008941 Ever. It isn't right for me to TELL you how to vote (although a suggestion is a different matter). But I am curious: What do you think your Voting for either Obama or Romney will achieve? Many who voted for Obama in the last election, thought they were "voting for change." Did they get what they expected? I think that most will agree that very few promises were kept, and little positive change has occurred. Why do you think it would be different in 2012? |

In fact, he himself said it was too high, since it was inevitable that he would need to make some tough decisions. It is unfortunate that the Libertarian Party has already picked a V.P. for its ticket. Ventura might have been a great choice, and it certainly would have helped to "get the vote out." |

Geologic (OP) User ID: 21283362 Hong Kong 08/05/2012 09:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here in California when we recalled governor Grey Davis and voted in Schwarzenegger, we replaced an incompetent ship captain who was sinking the ship with a new captain who at least was able to right the ship and get it back on course. I see Romney in a similar light. He's not much better on social issues than Obama, but can right the ship economically and geopolitically and get us back on course. Quoting: dei sapientiam in mysterio Thread: 50 Accomplishments of President Obama That's a fair argument. But there are some things which matter more (to me): + The size and function of the US military. (I am troubled greatly by Rom's willingness to put American lives at risk in attacking Iran. Haven't we see enough American lives and US wealth wasted in enough foreign adventures - Bama continued the Wars, will Rom stop them?) + The wastefulness of the US healthcare system. (Romney says he will repeal Obamacare. Good on him, but does he really have a better solution to the healthcare system? A real fix requires taking on Big Pharma, the insurance co's and the AMA. The whole way that the US approaches healthcare needs to be changed. America needs to learn from what works in Canada, Britain, and even in Hong Kong and Singapore. But Rom has taken about as much money from those lobby groups as Bama has.) + The way that America finances its political system. (Banksters, and other powerful corporate interests, have "bought" Congress and the media, and bent them to their will to support their interests. Bama has played along. And Rom is part of the 1%, and benefits from the system the way it is. Neither will change it.) + The size and direction of the government (The US government is too big. And right now it works like a giant Ponzi scheme, with politicians buying votes, and using the tax revenues of future generations to pay back the debts. This system is unsustainable, obviously. Neither Rom nor Bama is being honest with the voters about the scale of changes that are needed. Both are making empty promises that just expand the size of the Debt problem and push it forward in time.) Let's be honest with ourselves here, and maybe we can start something that will overturn the Big Fantasies and Rotten Bargains upon which the present system is built. |
