Re: Have any Men here Read 50 Shades of Grey?
first off, i am female

fucking awful book, from what ive heard and read of it

it is amateur erotic fan fiction based on the twilight series. that alone is a turn off

its successful because some clever literary bod spotted it and thought it would be sure fire bestseller for shy, emo teens. spot-on demographics, except its appealing to those neat n tidy wives too, especially as they get buy at when they food shop. bingo! ka-ching!

poorly written, ridiculous character names, preposterous characters

more funny (as in laughing AT you, not with you) than erotic

i know a few women who thought it was great, but as you americans call them - they are soccer mom types. we dont really have a name for that type of woman, but she exists here too... maybe with less hairspray

but remember, just because she is reading it, doesnt mean it will translate in to the bedroom. fantasy rarely translates into reality

lol, i now have a mental image of millions of americans going out and buying ball gags

so funny

Okay, I know how most of you feel about this book, and I don't want to get into an argument about it.

I simply want to know if any men here have read this book.

You can post anon if you want too!

I personally think that men should read this book, at least one of them anyway!

Some men are so boring in the bedroom and have no clue what might please a woman.

As well as some women might not realize what kind of fun they could actually be having.

Not everyone watches porn to get ideas, so I think this book is a good alternative.

It opened my eyes, I can tell you that!

Every women I know that has read this book, would love to have all, or most of those things done to her!

ATTENTION TO ALL MEN OUT THERE WITH GIRLFRIENDS/FIANCES/WIVES:

HEED THIS URGENT MESSAGE, AND TAKE IT TO THE FUCKING BANK

If your significant other reads this series, I GUARANTEE you will be having better/freakier sex than you have ever had before in your relationship.

Unless of course you've already experimented with role play and other things.

I am talking from personal experience, BUY HER THIS BOOK AND YOU WILL BE REWARDED ACCORDINGLY.

lmao

SERIOUSLY, it's worth the 12.99 or whatever their charging.

Why would men want to read this garbage anyway? If you don't know how to seriously fuck your women through multiple orgasums there are far better books detailing the skills required to train. Rather then using plastic toys use your dick train it into a hard fiery rod so as when you thrust it in and out of her it literally makes her shake in excitement.

One doesn't need this filth into making the bedroom exciting this should be kept in the kinky closet with the rest of the queer shit. MSM doesn't need to be promoting this kind of filth infront of impressionable teenage girls. But then again most women bragging up on this book them selfs are just lacking excitement in life/bedroom being drones grab onto anything considered "exciting" but honestly it's just a piece of shit wrapped in a nice looking paper cover but it's still a piece of shit.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21123582

While I realize this is an old thread..I felt I needed to respond to yours and others posting on here who feel they can critique as well as openly mock a book they haven't bothered to read.

I just started on book one and let me tell you guys something. I'm impressed!! E L James is a woman who KNOWS how to write a book about a very sensitive subject for most women, in a way that makes it hard to put the book down! She takes the subject of BDSM and masterfully weaves a romance/erotic story all through it. She uses both humor and life's little antidotes to break up the sexual tension...mercifully so I might add!

Christian Grey, a self made multi-millionaire tycoon, is a man of many dark and mysterious layers, but it is this multi-layer personality of his that causes him to take some sort of "refuge" in the world of BDSM. He is your typical Alpha type male who knows what women want in the bedroom and is learning through his latest conquest how to give what women want on a much more deeper level..the heart.

I'm only about half way through book one and I'm very impressed with this author's ability to address such a "taboo" subject through a romance/erotica novel. I have a feeling that if you men could put aside your egos long enough to read the first few chapters, I guarantee you too will have a difficult time putting it down! And you might even learn a few things about women and I'm not JUST talking about the bedroom! Although you might like the erotica part of the book in that you will get plenty of perspective from both the woman's AND the man's point of view;)

I know this is an old thread but it wound up on the front page so I have to reply.

I got the book from the library as I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

I couldn't finish it, it was the worse bit of writing I've ever seen. I wanted to smack her inner goddess in the head. The book was awful!

The fact that it reached #1 on the NY Times best seller list boggles my mind.

I didn't read it but I don't think you need BDSM to satisfy a woman.
 Quoting: Manu-Koelbren

Hi Manu!

No, I don't think you have to have it to have a good time, just a few of the things looked fun.

It's not all BDSM either, it's also how he treats her and how he goes about pleasing her!

He takes over, and shows her new things etc.

Hmmmm. Like someone else I know! Lol

New Computer Attacks Traced to Iran, Officials Say
By NICOLE PERLROTH and DAVID E. SANGER
Published: May 24, 2013

"SAN FRANCISCO — American officials and corporate security experts examining a new wave of potentially destructive computer attacks striking American corporations, especially energy firms, say they have tracked the attacks back to Iran.
Related

The targets have included several American oil, gas and electricity companies, which government officials have refused to identify. The goal is not espionage, they say, but sabotage. Government officials describe the attacks as probes looking for ways to seize control of critical processing systems. "

The new attacks, officials say, were devised to destroy data and manipulate the machinery that operates critical control systems, like oil pipelines. One official described them as “probes that suggest someone is looking at how to take control of these systems.”

This is just another example of our depravity
How to please a woman really? Is this what is all about?
Soon women will worry about where to get food and water, warm shelter, clothing, medicine, food for their children etc
Instead of worrying about their genitalia and how to climax
Now you know why our society is in decline
Like animals
The wake up call is almost here
Then your ride awakening will come and the last thing you perverted outcasts will think of is your genitals

Re: Have any Men here Read 50 Shades of Grey?
The problem is women tend to romanticize sex. They'd rather call it making love, lol! Then you wonder why guys get turned off seriously? Stop trying to romanticize sex! It's an animal act in it's rawest form,ok? Nothing romantic about it. But she wants you to coo in her ear, shit like, "Oh, I can't get enough. This is the best pussy I swear I've ever had!" Blah, blah. Jesus. Then afterwards she wants to snuggle and ask stupid shit, "Was it as good for you as it was for me?" LOL! And he's already falling asleep. lmao!

I'm a woman, 47 yrs old and I know this shit. I find it hilarious that these damn women want their men to romance them all the fucking time. Damn but the rest of the time they can't even be bothered to put out because the kids are in the next room, or she's doing laundry,etc... lol!

Most guys are right about one thing, keep his belly full and his balls empty and you'll have a happy man in your life. IF he's no good in the sack, trade his ass in. If he asks you why, tell him straight up why, "You're terrible in bed. You need some fucking skills dude!" I know a woman who divorced her husband and when the judge asked her why she wanted a divorce she told him that her husband was shit in bed. She said he just looked stunned at her. She got her divorce. lol!

Only 50 shades? If you've explored all the 50 shades, won't it be boring?

144000 shades of RGB (Red Green Blue) look more interesting. It's super superset of 50 shades of grey. The ultimate is unlimited shades of star trek rainbow, the final frontier. With unlimited shades, boring wont be in dictionary anymore.

Re: Have any Men here Read 50 Shades of Grey?
See this is what I don't get. I'm 43 years old, been married for 25 plus years and 3 adult children later, my husband and I still have romance and mystique in our marriage. We still talk to and treat each other with respect. That's what love is. It's not about what the other can DO for you or whether or not the other is DOING enough. It's about what you can do for each other. That's what's important. If both partners are living their life for the other, you have harmony. Plain and simple as that. That is what love is...doing for others and putting others needs above yourself. I know that's not very popular these days, but all I can say is it's worked for us.

Our sex life may not be as active as it was in our younger years, but when it does happen..we make it count! For BOTH of us;)

I just don't understand all of the negative opinions on this book. (granted I'm only on book one, but I'm already hooked) And I have to disagree about this book being about "making a woman feel good." That couldn't be further from the truth. This book is about a man and a woman embarking together on the journey of life while bringing everything to the table, in their case..emotional baggage and inexperience. It's about them daring to find love in different circles of society and learning to love each other despite their differences. It's about both being willing to explore beyond their comfort zones BECAUSE of the love they feel for each other.

As for the way the author writes...all I can say is maybe some of you don't appreciate her sense of humor? Frankly..I find it infectious and find myself giggling all the time at Anna's alter egos, for those who haven't read the book, that means her "inner goddess" and her "subconscious" I absolutely love how she ingeniously weaves these two "characters" into the story. As for her writing style, the book is written from a first person pov. That being Anna. I also love how she makes use of modern technology in the story with both email and texting. It adds a type of familiar layer to the story that pulls it into the 21st. century.

Anyway...I don't mean to sound like people don't have a right to their opinions...I guess I'm just surprised is all.

It's sad when a guy doesn't know how to go down there and do it right because he has never really learned except from watching porn. It's sad when all he can do is stick it in and three pumps later he's done and she's left wondering wtf? That the majority of sex nowadays. hell most people don't have the stamina it takes to enjoy a good fuck every now and then. They're too busy thinking about the laundry that has to get finished or what time the game is on TV. It's BS!
Hell, when I was with my first husband before we were married we could go at it for hours. I haven't found anyone who could come close to that anymore. I've been divorced after my second marriage for 17 yrs. It's sad all these guys wanna do is drink beer and run their yaps about BS that doesn't even fucking matter.

Me, all I do is work and pay bills, so what do I need a guy for? I'm paying my own way.
