Here's a question - why the hell would a Turkish general be in Aleppo? The fighting in Aleppo would only require the presence of a colonel AT MOST. Quoting: Doru [link to english.farsnews.com] Syria Arrests Turkish Army General in Aleppo TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army announced that it has recently apprehended a Turkish general who commanded the terrorists trying to seize control of Aleppo. According to an informed source in Syria, the Turkish general was arrested during the Syrian Army's clashes with the terrorists in Aleppo. News reports said that the Turkish general has been taken to Damascus for further interrogations. Earlier, Turkish media also reported that Syria has detained 40 Turkish military officers in different parts of the country, and said that efforts to release them have failed. Turkey along with the US, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been supporting terrorists and rebel groups in Syria and have practically brought a UN peace initiative into failure to bring President Assad's government into collapse. Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police forces and border guards being reported across the country. Hundreds of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed, when some protest rallies turned into armed clashes. The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad ... more ... FSAs Syrian command and communications(advanced US equipment) central WAS in Aleppo of several reason. One being the fact that FSA has more then 80% of their "brigades"(fighting men) there. It was surrounded and captured by SAA the other day. Time frame of this news release seems reasonable. Aleppo was planned to be connected to Turkey by now and the current Turkey, Saudi, Qatari HQ at the boarder should been moved there. The Turkish general and a number of liaison officers were sent in advance. Since the SAA with Russian and Iranian help new about the plan and cut the corridor(among other things) to Aleppo the USA have failed once again. Tonight there are several emergency meetings in the Gulf States and Turkey and we can guess they are frustrated and worried. |

Consequentially if the US was using their generals to command rebels in Russia, the Russians would probably nuke the planet. Both sides in this Turkey/Syria conflict have been committing acts of war against each other. It's amazing how much restraint has been shown... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19473276 The architects of all this are the same ones who bought us Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya.. Bush, Cheney and Blair were culpable in setting this madness rolling and the current administrations in the US, Britain and key Nato states are no better. Bring on the trials!!! |

What i could find is the same thing "according to an Iranian news agency there are rumours that etc. etc." But interestingly one of them (an important one) added another detail : "According to Maya Naser (Maya Naser is a pro-Assad reporter) there are negotiations going on to exchange 48 Iranian pilgrims with this General". Then I recommend you to read what I wrote again. The Aleppo operation is the biggest of its kind ever and the success was given - USA fought. Even worst is the fact that a failure will not only delay their schemes a lot but maybe even force them to abandon current tactics. That mean they only have the overt card left. USA can't play it with current Russian and Chinese stance. Turkey is in many ways under pressure. USA demanded a high stake to be sure that Turkey did anything in their power to establish this "beach head". Leon Panetta and other high rank terror instigators have expressed harsh words of frustration lately to underline the correctness of this analysis. |
