He is correct up to a point. Israelis (the Jewish) have a more efficient relationship with global capitalism in contrast with Arabs (the Muslims). Both Christianity and Judaism (Abrahamic roots) have rationalised their relationship with capital and jettisoned superfluous baggage such as the rules on interest and debtors, all necessary in an economy premised on infinite growth. Islam on the other hand (same Abrahamic roots), still operates outdated rules better designed for feudal systems.

However, the current wars in the Middle East are taking Islam down the reformist route, as did the religious wars of Europe and Protestantism give birth to Christianity's pragmatism.

So to some extent, uber capitalist Romney is simply articulating what the capitalist system cleaves towards.
