Police Taser Deaf Crime Victim

So sad the current police-citizens affairs in the US. You guys need to revolt or demo for this matter, this can't keep going on, cops are killing/beating people just for farting in public place, it's absurd.

It is very sad. From the story: The woman was on the phone with the dispatcher who had informed the police that she was deaf. She was told she could exit and that's when it goes all wrong.

Bad things happen when you don't follow officer commands. These men and women want to go home safely to their families at the end of their shifts. Don't be stupid and do things that make them feel threatened.

I read the story, the poor soul, i was talking generally about the cops aggression towards US citizens though, which is stepping up in frequency the last few years, killing/beating/tasing pets, gangys, mentally challenged people on the street etc. it's getting tiring by now. I understand that things are different in the US on that matter, but these things would not be tolerated in Greece or Europe for example, last time a cop killed "accidentally" a citizen here we had riots for a week and Athens center was completely burned down, in the last 30 years 4 people died by police brutality here and it was always followed by people rioting.
Don't know why you guys aren't at least demo against it and i don't know what feeds the cops to respond in such a violent manner to the citizens they are supposed to protect, maybe coz guns are legal in the US or maybe more psychos living there and the police is scared? Don't know just thinking out loud here, i never understood US cops behavior and aggression, any help on the matter would be appreciated.

I can't ask about cops aggression in the US just because i'm Greek? Unlike you, i'm interested to know more about how average people and other societies around the world are living and viewing things in their daily lives. And i bash most of the world's cops regardless of their nationality.

On the 911 calls, White herself made it perfectly clear.


“I’m deaf. I can’t hear if they’re out front knocking or whatever … I can’t—are they going to the front or back? Where are the police at?”


Dispatch: “They want her to go outside the front door.”


“Oh, they’re here? Okay, I’m on my way to meet them. I’m going right now.”

They handled this one just fine, probably taught the bitch a lesson she'll never forget.

So much for the sensitivity training the the police are supposed to have :(

This case became the corner stone of "reasonable force" issues and decisions, and has been the focus of training over the years.

There have been a number of these "Taser over-dependance" cases cropping up over the last few years as departments began to use them.

I for one see a HUGE problem with this case and I'm sure the courts will too. It's too bad that stupid cops make the news more often than those who get the job done effectively.
